350 hours TT, Now What?

Thanks! But of course aviation has to mix it up for me which trust me I am not complaining. I dont get one single phone call about a job for the last years, then I am super excited for this CAE thing, figure ill push more for otter/kingair flying next season and work down at our year round jump school more this winter and cross bridges later. Oh and get my CFI in Feb when I have tons of free time. Of course 3 hours after I leave CAE, my phone rings from Air Hampton a 135 op, and an hour later Great Lakes calls for an interview.

Yep do I gamble my current gig throws me PIC turbine which I doubt. Do I eat ramen and fly for 121 with a commute till next fall. Do I get my CFI, manage a local Cirrus and put my current gig on the back burner of my priority list and stay where I am. Do I not take the crap regional with a commute and wait for something out of ny regionally. UGHHHHHH, worst part is my Mom is sick and I am her only family, so I can not leave till that runs it course and my house lease runs out next sept.
Same here. I just got two job offers within days. After years of being happy to get any job, it took me a few days to wrap my head around getting to decide where I wanted to work. 121 making nothing at first or 135 making a descent living but little growth. I change my mind every minute.

Hey Rick, sounds like you've got a healthy dose of something called.... life. Just take it a day at a time, and when the decisions come along you gotta pray about it, weigh the options, and go with your gut. Be certain you'll have plenty of those decisions to make in an aviation career since the typical time spent with one employer is getting shorter. I can't tell you how many times my life could have gone in a completely different direction. All I know is things worked out with the decisions I made.
Congratulations on the CAE gig, hope it works out if you decide to pursue it. The folks there are great to work with, and so are the clients.

Rick,
Go to the Lakes interview. Until they offer you a job, you don't have a decision to make. Also, the CAE thing will be excellent experience for you! I would do it even if it were short term. Heck, I would do it myself right now if I could fit it in to my time schedule and could do it in Atlanta!
The Lakes thing is good interview experience, no matter what happens, so make sure you do it.

Didn't you say your dads with united? Go to Lakes for a few years get that turbine pic time and then give dad a call. Thats what I would do. The commuting part is crappy without a doubt. You're gonna have to sacrifice something somewhere. Tough choices.
