Low Time Pilot Jobs Near Denver?
I'm a recent college grad with 430TT, over 100 hrs dual given. I've got my CFII and am looking for anything that pays me to fly near Denver, whether that's instructing or aerial imaging, doesn't matter too much. Anyone know of anything out there?

I just left Denver, but had no luck looking for low time jobs while I was there. My only recommendation is to get anyone that is thinking about flying or already is at a different flight school, and bring them to the smaller flight schools and say they want to fly with you, you just need a place to do it. If you can bring in at least two people, some flight schools (Daedalus at FTG) may let you instruct. Then you just put in your time and hope things pick up.
If you talk to a flight school and can get a deal like this worked out, then hang out at Metro during freshman orientation... find the new pilots and offer to be their instructor.
That was my plan.

Get a good job
Get a job. Live at home. Buy a Cessna 150 and fly the wings off of it. You could wait around for years for the market to recover and get no where or you could buy a plane and make it happen for yourself.
It is hard to make it as a flight instructor.

Thats what I did (with a 172). While I am not flying everyday, I am still getting the hours in. And I offset the airplane's expenses with freelance flight training. Figure out a costs analysis and you can make it work.

KBJC: Mcair is a great flight school, a Cessna Pilot Center. Journeys and Western Air do a decent amount of training as well.
KAPA probably has the most corporate/charter traffic so if you do find a CFI gig there, hang out and see if you can work in some right seat time on something.
KFTG has Daedalus. Good school as well. 141 training with a few foreign contracts that keep a good flow of students. Didn't need any CFI's when I left.

Yeah,
Daedules (FTG) is a very good school, but getting a JOB with them as a full time CFI is not easy. They will most likely let you free-lance there till they get to know you. Call and ask for Sasha (chief pilot), he's pretty cool...
Flights INC (APA) the chief pilot is difficult to work with and they typically only hire internally... But they do APPEAR to have a lot of students. Call and ask for Mike Underreiner (chief pilot), you might get lucky
Aspen (APA) - Is an okay operation, they keep steady with there students, but it might be another tough gig the land a job.... Call and ask for Mike Shannon (chief pilot), he's an alright guy.....
Not too familiar with the schools at BJC..... To be honest man, there's been a 10% decrease in student pilots for the past couple years... Its pretty difficult right now to CFI in Denver. There is a lot of competition and not a lot of incoming students. If your not strapped down in college like I am, I'd recommend leaving state to go find a flying job.....
Hope this helps, good luck...
