Uh no.
I’m with Excargodog.

I brought a safety pilot along on the trip to share the flying since I don’t have autopilot. Flew 2 weeks straight. The most we did in one day was a 15 hour flight that was over 1600 miles long.
First of all, how are you logging this since you “share” the flying?
And a 15 hr flight in one day is not “safe” or “smart”.

Hey, I’m happy as can be he managed to almost meet his goal without killing himself. That still doesn’t mean it was a brilliant idea. Even playing Russian roulette you ‘win’ five times out of six, but that scarcely makes it advisable.

I’m sure the Commutair crew at Presque Isle was 99% sure they were actually landing on the runway. But sometimes even 99% sure just isn’t certainty enough. Personally, I’d have headed back to EWR after the first missed approach. It isn’t naysaying, it’s called prudence.

But I’d never deny someone the chance to risk THEIR OWN life, although I might advise them against it.

Statistically you’re at one of the danger points in your career

This is called the dead zone:

You think you’re bullet proof as you’ve mastered a single engine airplane.
Before you come back with a smart answer think for three seconds and realize that ALL OF US HERE have been where you are now.
You just need to make it to where we are.
Without killing yourself.
