how realistic is my goal?

Currently 6 postings on drop zone for 182 pilots. At 500 hours you are golden for them. The most fun flying I’ve had and you can get a free skydive license in the process. I learned to pack chutes on the side and made an extra 100 bucks every night packing the left over rigs. Do that for awhile to hit 1000-1200 hours and you will have any 135 job you want right now.

For the survey gigs, you never know when someone calls it quits at one of the companies. I'd apply to them all just in case. AA & Skylens (possibly others) have Aztecs as well so you can possibly upgrade to get that multi time too.

Merry Christmas everyone,
I am a relatively new pilot and have a question about the reality of my career goals. By the end of January, I will have 500TT, my commercial multi, 20 hours multi, 100+ hours night, 100+ hours instrument, and 300+ cross country. The majority of my hours are in a Cessna 150 that I have owned for the last 5 months or so. My goal is to be in a light jet in 1-2 years, maybe a Phenom 100 (preferred) or similar class of light jet. So my questions include: how likely is it that I get picked up to fly PC-12's or better with 500TT? Am I going to have to fly a job like aerial survey in a 172? To be clear, I have no problem moving or living like a gypsy for the next few years. I'm a dedicated bachelor for a reason. I'm also very open to signing a contract if it means getting type rated and paid enough to live on until I prove myself.

I personally know two people in my area that got hired flying 135 in a bandit with under 500tt, one had 380tt but 90ME and the other had less than 10 hours ME with about 400tt. One of those guys got into a Lear after 6 mos in the bandit. Another friend at the same company got right into a Lear 35 with around 700tt and less than 20ME. This is at PTK in Michigan. We have a lot of 135 operations there that hire low time but you have to be flexible, most have a callout of 30 minutes or so. Decent money too. Paid per mile plus a salary.
