Default Aerodynamic Aviation

Does anyone have experience working at Aerodynamic Aviation as a CFI? Looking to get info on working there full-time as a CFI.

I think you're talking about the one in San Jose, CA. Flown with them but not as a CFI. Good family run outfit and they desperately need CFIs. Lots of work to be had there. But do yourself a favor and get your TW and aerobatics checkout if you don't already(you can do it there), you'll be turning away students. Think relaxed, fun, tee shirt and shorts type of place. BBQs and bush flying. Not so much fancy airplanes, airline pipeline atmosphere. They do have one or two Cirrus's but tailwheel is their soul. If I had the time and no kids I'd get my CFI and fly with them too.

Any idea on the equipment quality, pay, and hours? Is it sustainable to live single in San Jose?

Quality is good, Aerodynamic owns a majority of the planes and the husband is director of maintenance so they have a vested interest in good maintenance. Not sure how many hours you'll rack up per week but it is safe to say quite a bit. Jen who runs it needs CFIs due to the demand. She's actually trying to fly less and run the business but she needs to since she's the only one available a lot of the time. Lots of tech guys in that area that want to fly.

Jen is a good person, superb pilot(she does aerobatic competitions in her Decathlon), so it would be worth calling her and discussing all of this, without committing. She won't B.S. you about pay and living expenses. San Jose is huge and they know that area pretty well. I live North of there so I don't know what the COL is nowadays.

One thing to keep in mind is that they also fly out of Monterey and Salinas. Salinas is WAY cheaper to live than San Jose, but probably not as fun, since it's kind of a put. Monterey area has expensive and cheap areas as well. But these are all questions for Jen!
