Default First Interview

So everything is moving quite fast for me & I have my first pilot job interview coming up & curious if there is any advice anyone can share? One of my biggest questions is what should I wear? Full on suit & tie? More traditional suit & tie or is contemporary sport jacket with a white button down, long sleeve shirt ok? Aviation themed tie? Too cliche? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'd recommend a traditional suit, but ultimately it comes down to whatever the job is. Dress for the job you want; if the company's uniform requires a tie to be worn, wear the tie (a non-aviation themed tie). If the interview is for a banner towing gig or something else of that sort, maybe a suit & tie wouldn't be necessary.

Compared to the alternative, being overdressed usually doesn't make a bad impression.

Yeah, it really depends on the type of gig. I just got an email for an upcoming interview that said dress in comfortable flying clothes. A suit sounds like a no go.

Entry level banner tow, survey, jumpers all seem like a suit or even a jacket would be too much.

At an interview you dress to impress.
It shows the interviewer you've taken the trouble to present yourself at your best today.
It's also a show of respect.
It's simple stuff like sit when you're offered a seat and take your jacket off when they tell you to take your jacket off.
Try to look like you're not wearing a suit for the first time that day.
Don't ask stupid stuff like " what airplanes y'all fly anyway?"
Don't flirt with staff while you're waiting to be seen.
Don't be in the middle of the lobby waiving your arms about and telling war stories when I come to get you.
Yeah really...
I've done the hiring and firing for 3-4 years for a medium sized 141 flightschool.
If you're a woman don't wear psycho clown make up.
