Ellen,

I agree with everything you said and am one of those lower time people that will gladly take the knowledge. I actually never thought I would be back in aviation but, I guess you could say the stars aligned.

I don't mind commuting, I grew up with my dad doing it. I just think this opportunity would be the perfect fit for where I am at right now and what I am trying to do.

You said possibly picking up 50 this year, do you know how big the pilot group is?

Thanks for the response btw

We're up to 84 Pilots, when i started, we had less than 30. This was exactly 10 months ago.

I said every day. Not every night. A lot of us have overnights but are seldom gone for > 24 hours. Beats the hell out of being gone for 4-5 days at a time at the 121 regionals.

I am looking to transition from instructing to get better time and a solid schedule, plus I want to get back to my house in NC with any luck. I am gunning for ATL, which would be an easy commute. I have 1030TT right now, still instructing daily, CFI, II and MEI, also military but, not an aviator.

I got the same email about application is being reviewed...
Sorry, just saw this. It's probably doable. You would have to explain the situation during the interview. I think they prefer you to live in base. I know of two pilots that commute. You definitely have the time for an FO position. You don't have 135 PIC IFR mins but will in no time. I have no idea what they're doing for hiring in ATL right now. DEN still seems to be the place everyone is going.

Good luck.

I applied to Boutique Air as soon as I heard they were coming to Nashville (BNA) and that they flew PC12's. I have 1850 TT and around 250 PIC in a Caravan part 135. I got the email a couple of weeks ago to select a date for a phone interview and I selected last Monday but no phone call came. So, I selected another date in the future.
My place of employment lies beneath the approach for BNA and not a day goes by that I don't look up when I hear a PT6 overhead to see a PC12 arriving or departing. I hold out hope that someday I will be looking down at where I was looking up...err...something like that.

Good luck and keep trying.

I believe the email asks for you to give an entire week of availability to interview. That's what my email said. You might want to go back and look at what the email specifies. That may be the reason they haven't called. Hope this helps.
