Hmm... They all pretty much suck. It's 135 freight. I don't know of any that are great, but I don't know many either.

Pay is ~20k with per diem, work ~20days/month, home every night, and you have to assist the loading in the mornings. Most of the pilots are really good guys. HTH

What is the training like? I always hear people talking about 121 training. Haven't heard much about 135. Also, can you upgrade pretty much as soon as you meet the 135 mins? Do they have pilot bases other than miami? How much time can one expect to fly in a month/year?

Thanks in advance,

UNDGUY

The Metro training is done in house. It takes about 1.5 weeks of basic indoc, then a week or so of flight checks. Upgrade time is sort of luck of the draw. Could be in as little as a year, could be 2. Depends on your time, and the needs of the company at that time. Miami is the only base. You an expect about 80-90 hours/month as an f/o.

sounds good. so all the training is done in the actual airplane then? There are no sims or paper tigers? That could actually be better in my opinion. The sims I've flown have always been harder to fly than the actual airplane. Miami doesn't sound too bad either after spending three years in North Dakota.

Yah, it's all done in the plane. If you do the Saab thing, it's done at Pan Am in Minn. They're trying to keep the Saab thing as a pay-per-view deal. I don't know much about North Dakota, but Miami isn't exactly cheap. Especially on a 20k/yr salary.

What's the Saab thing as a pay-per-view deal?? I have 304 TT and 29 Multi. Think I will stand a chance? I just graduated from college. Trying to avoid CFI and start a job where I can get some twin turbine time. Right now with all the competition seems like looging Cessna time is a big waste. Anybody who knows about FO position at IBC please email me with info on what I should/can do to get a interview call if you don't mind. [email protected] Any help will be a big favour. I'm a non citizen. I have an US work permit for a year starting February so I need a job fast.
