I've worked for AirNet for about 2 years back in 2004. The best group of pilots I've ever met and by the far the best experience any pilot can recieve flying night, single pilot, IFR. This is not a long term job, at least for me, but it beats flight instructing or flying for the %$#$% regionals. What I can say negative about AirNet is that it is not conducive for a family life, also the management and dispatch are can be pieces of work. I was not impressed with them at all. Nevertheless, it is a great place as a stepping stone, then to move to on.
Regards to breaking FAR's, I don't know about that, but what I can say flying Caravans in icing conditions nightly isn't what I call fun. It is very dangerous and I have had personally my fair share of experiences with Scare Net.
The guys who rolled the Lear, I knew both of them personally. Great guys, they made a mistake by being "frieght dogs"... I'll keep it at that.
Point: Air Net is great to build time, experience, and meet probably the best pilots I've known since the Air Force.

Guess that depends on what side of the fence you're on. I flew 135, and refuse to ever go 121. Home every night, actually enjoy the planes I flew, even if they were piston twins. Freedom of operation!!!!! I've moved to a part 91 job, pay's better, turbines, benefits, so obviously a move up, but I could go back to 135 if I had to and know I was being paid what I was worth!!!

You are correct, sir. You must be able to outbid based on seniority to go from the props to the jets... no direct hires. The only advantage you might have is that if you have the time requirements (2000 total/500 multi), you can start bidding on the jet spots immdiately out of initial. You might catch a break if no one is willing or able to bid on an open jet SIC spot. The only time I saw that happen when I was there was because it was a crappy run that nobody wanted (something like 13 hours duty with 2.0 block out of BWI ).

Are they still hiring into their time-building program? I'm recently on the prowl for a job... im a recent grad from Purdue and still very low time, but i do remember them coming in and talking to us seniors, but cant remember if they had any minimums to apply...
