Air Med jobs.... Work schedule?

If you have lower time and really like the medivac job, I would suggest looking for the 2 pilot operators and try there. Its a lot safer anyway.

As far as schedule:
I'm at an AMC fixed wing base. PC-12, 7 on/7 off. Our helo guys do 6/6. From what I can tell, 7/7 is most common, but there are plenty of 6/6 and 4/4s, and maybe even a 14/14 or two at the more remote bases for easier commuting. Some programs do 7days, off, 7nights, off...ours is either 3days followed by 4 nights or vice versa (just depending on where you were originally put on the schedule). I'm told there are a couple of programs where guys have permanently exchaged shifts such that one guy only does nights and the guy opposite him only does days. This would obviously require the agreement of both pilots, plus the lead pilot.
As you can see, there's lots of room for flexibility...

Wouldn't mind getting on with Lifeguard. Hanging at the beach again would be sweet!

In Charlotte, we still would like to see a couple thousand hours. Not necessarily jet time, but they would like some turbo prop experience. King Air time is a plus. I would recommend looking for a single pilot operator and beg to ride along with him for the experience. at least 30 hours or so. You need to have AT LEAST the ATP mins. Our company requires everyone to it now.

You bet! I think you have sufficient time, everyone is looking for turbine twin time of course but they are also looking for a great attitude as well. I've seen companies hire someone with a great attitude over a guy with 5 type ratings. If you show you really want the job without being annoying I'm sure you'd have a good shot!

I work 7 on 7 off, $55,000 a year, single pilot turbo prop, company provides accommodation (own room) while on duty.
I've instructed, done the regionals, fractionals, now this. I made more money in the left seat at my regional airline, but this is the most enjoyable aviation job I've had so far.
Good luck.
