The point being was that the codeshares were a limited and focused joint endevour with CO and B6 respectively and not the be all and end all of Cape Air. Unlike most regional carriers who though much larger than Cape are still strictly lift subcontractors for "real" airlines, Cape has its own organic reservations and marketing arms. Going it alone (ala Independence Air or ExpressJet) isn't a risky experiment for Cape, but the regular, proven model.
