I've heard the same but here's a question... If you've not flown anything but light twins and went to cape and amassed thousands of hrs of PIC, that time won't matter when it comes to a major, correct?

Just asking a question not trying to flame.

Sure, you'll probably need some turbine time, but that's pretty much a given. As long as you meet the requirements it shouldn't be any more of an issue landing a major job than anyone else is having. But yes it is nearly impossible with only piston time.

Yeah maybe. It's still decent PIC time but yeah I know I'll need more turbine time eventually. I honestly haven't figured out the next step, but I'm quite certain that I don't want to go back to a regional unless I absolutely have to; there are other options out there to get turbine time without taking a big hit in QOL.

Any chance of holding a New England base year round? I'm guessing not for a new hire from looking at the threads.

There was a lot of movement in the last year or so, and folks that were hired in the last year have been able to hold north bases for the winter, so it's entirely possible but certainly not guaranteed and not really typical.

I really liked what I heard yesterday during the interview. I'm not trying to get into a Boeing or Airbus though. I think it sounds nearly perfect for me. Just wish I could move to the base if I get picked up.

Yes I have, thank you for asking.
Hope you get the job. Cape is a great place to work! If only they paid pilots more...but that is the case with 90% of airlines out there
