Cape is struggling to retain crews
Effective May 3rd, 2022, Cape Air has suspended hiring for its First Officer Program until further notice. This suspension is due to the high number of First Officers that breach their commitment upon reaching ATP minimums at Cape Air’s expense. The First Officer opportunity will remain available for pilots applying through our Career Pathway Programs including Internal Gateway, JetBlue Gateway Programs, LIFT Academy, and the Spirit Jetway Program.

FWIW. I was told by guy last spring, that he was better off paying Cape 30k to break his contract, then fly from them and be in a base he didn’t care for. He said the pay bump from the new job would cover the cost of the contract too.
Do they not have a $30k SIC bond?

Hesitation
Hello all. I am currently in a JetBlue gateway program through Aviator College, Cape Air, and then back to JetBlue. All of the recent post has me second guessing my position. Contract is go to Cape at 750 hrs, upgrade at ATP mins, and fulfill the year contract to get back to JetBlue. For those with recent experience is it worth it? I live in Fort Lauderdale so if I can get to SJU I could commute. What are typically junior stations? How many flight hours are typical per month? I don’t care too much about the pay if I can upgrade quickly and do my year as B6 FO Base pay is around 90k.
