Hey guys/gals.
Couple of questions regarding Cape Air and the current situation.
1. Comes Oct 1, what is the likelihood of furloughs? Major airlines have announced they will be overstaffed for the Fall and next year. Anything from management at Cape indicating this could happen ?
2. I hear the incentives that would allow captains to gross 80k the first year are gone. Any idea if they will be back? How much are pilots making without them?

Yes the incentive pay for all pilot positions have ended. That basically leaves captain pay cut in half. Neither the union or the chief pilot are telling us when it will be back, and they don’t seem to be working toward getting it back for us either. None of the airlines are hiring, and Cape air isn’t sending FOs for their ATP upgrade, so there are a lot of pilots here. Because of that, picking up extra days as an FO isn’t happening often. With that said FOs are making roughly $2000 (gross). PICs are making roughly $2600 (gross). Captains are making roughly $3000 (gross). Maybe add $100-$200 for overtime pay. Incentive pay NEEDS to come back. Cape air already makes pilots live in bases that pilots can’t afford to live in.
