Yes CAs and FOs train together. Everything is the same in ground school up until the sim/flying portion of training. Then CAs have priority. Ground school isn't too bad. It will be a bit of a fire hose without any airline flying but it's not bad. Tests aren't too bad. Systems test is a little hard but it just depends on how much you study. You have all the info that will be on it, just up to you to study it. Then you do a couple sims, fly the plane, sims, fly the plane, sims, fly the plane, etc. First 6 or so lessons will be all easy stuff. VFR, maneuvers, etc. Second half is IFR stuff which is quite a bit harder. Not so much in the real plane, but actually the sim. It's so touchy with no feel to it and that makes it hard to maintain alt, heading, etc. Then when they fail an engine IMC, the plane freaks out and it's easy to over correct. Then you do the same stuff in the actual plane and realize how much easier it is. The 402 is a fun and easy plane to fly. Especially empty on training flights. 1500-2000fpm climbs are possible if the conditions are right.

Anyone know if there is a class going right now? Either way, does anyone know where the FO base openings are?
Can someone confirm if FOs are still protected on some routes from being bumped?
Trying to get a feel for the future.
Thanks!

No class right now. New one Ive heard in September. Fo's are protected on Eas routes with your own seat. There are a few occasions where you can get bumped, final decision is up to soc. Bases are all over the place that I wouldn't know since I'm not an fo anymore.
