Got the phone interview today. The first step is done. I was told to look for an email between Friday - Monday for info on the next step (Memphis in-person interview, written test and sim check). Class for me if I get through would be 10 days in Portland in August.
Off topic, but important for those looking to build time. True, the ATP mins are changing and the cost is about to go up. The airlines will include the Sim time and ATP written at that point, so the cost shouldn't change too much for current pilots below the min times. *** the written test is good for two years. If your close in time, try to take it prior to Aug 1st.
Building time.... Safety pilot whenever you can. Low cost time builder if there is a LSA school in your area is grab the CFI-SP. You only need 150 TT and no commercial to do it. Then you can earn a little while you build time. Don't forget about CAP (Civil Air Patrol). O-ride pilots only need to have 150 TT PIC. I have turned down probably 50 hours of free flying for them in the past 6 months. AND, when you want to practice, their 172s run $28-35 / hr plus fuel. $85-90 per hour in a nice 172 is a pretty good rate.
Feel free to email questions.

Congratulations Ron! I hope you make it through. I also had the phone interview today. I was told the same thing. Look for an email and that since I wanted Memphis that I would probably get that.
Hope I get the invitation. We'll see what happens. Anybody know how to study for the written?

Got the email for an in-person interview as well. So have several other guys from my current employer, but none of them are planning on the same interview date. If anyone else is going from Central Ohio, I would be interested in carpooling and/or hotel room sharing. Save some $$!
