SeaPort Airlines

Yeah, people like that really hurt the rest of us. I know a guy that got a great corporate gig and was typed in the 1900. Sure it's not fancy but he didn't do anything for months while there new plane was getting a kicking interior and all the bells and whistles installed and he was still payed a ton of money during that time. Quits shortly after that because he wanted to do more flying. I guess $120K doesn't buy everyone. So after that they will only hire people already typed plus a contract and i think less pay too. Another friend lucked out on a lear job and got PIC typed. Ditched it shortly after to go back to huston. As far as applying for jobs that you don't know what going on even when details are black and white I hope you are not talking about Seaport. Only info I could find was aircraft type and pay. There are a lot more details than that.

Exactly right. I guess I'm one of the people who has everyone so worked up. HungryPilot nailed it on the head... there was a lot I found out at the interview that wasn't available beforehand, much less black and white. If anyone is thinking about interviewing feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to fill you in on the many pros and cons that I learned about. The guys who interviewed me were great... hopefully they're more of a reflection of the SeaPort work force than the folks who get so flustered on here.

What did you find out After the interview that you did not know before the interview? I dont want to start a war about he said she said but I just want to know what changed ur mind? So that I can included that information to others who ask. No ones is flustered... curious is now a better word.

Here's an example of something that got me thinking after the interview. When I asked about schedules I was told ..."5 on, 2 off, eventually shooting for 4 on, 3 off." Done. Black and white, right? After a couple weeks of asking various QOL questions to current employees, someone told me you actually sit on reserve from 6am to 6pm on your "off" days. Could you confirm or refute this for me? Thanks.
I can see both sides of the coin here. If you know what equipment you're flying, what your role is, where you're based, what the pay is, then get the job and go to work? Sometimes though, the devil's in the details.

Thats i true and untrue... there are some lines with reserve. Depends on what you bid for...lines are broken up...so you work all day Fri Sat and Sun sit reserve on Monday...Some lines are work Mon Tues Wed Thurs Fri off Sat and Sun.... all depends on your seniority...

I interviewed in PDX back in June, and was offered a spot in the 'pool.' I attended their new-hire ground school the last week of June, and have been waiting ever since.
I got a call from them maybe a week ago, they were saying that they had two FO openings in MEM.... After a little discussion we concluded that I'd be better off to sit and wait for an opening in PDX. So still waiting, I suppose.
That's all the news I've got, anyway.

My sources are not solid, just a rumor from a friend of a friend of one of the FO's in PDX.
How long are upgrades taking over there? I can't imagine anyone would want to sit right seat in a PC-12 for too long.
