I was at the interview on 4/1. I took about 4 days to hear back from them after I applied. I got to ride on the Lear 35 for 3 legs to get there, and trust me it is worth the trip itself! Anyway, I stayed at the hotel that is within walking distance of the field. I was the only person being interviewed that day, but there were a couple people who came along to see what the company was about. First thing we did was take a tour of the entire facility with 2 guys from Airnet. One was a pilot, the other one worked the loading/unloading. After that, we went into a room and watched a power point about the company. I aslo learned that the bonus you receive is acutally that amount after taxes, which is was a nice suprise. The other thing is that if you don't complete your year there, you no only pay the 8000 dollar NON prorated agreement, you also have to give back the signing bonus. After that, I did the simulator. They give you a checklist, but you are required to have the speeds they send you prior memorized. To start the sim, I took off and did a couple steep turns. After that, he froze the sim a put me only about 3 miles from a VOR and had me hold. After that, I did the VOR approach and he failed my an engine on the missed. I climbed out declared an emergency and shot the ILS back to the field. A few tips on the sim, it is very sensitive, and pretty old school. Also, make sure you use the checklist!!! They are watching that you do this!!! Make sure you look at the approaches (2) they give you and try to remember alot of it because the sim will get away from you very quickly if you do not!!! After that, I started the written test. It was all right from the ATP book. It was very big on the weather section as far as I remember and also alot of IFR stuff. Half way through the written I was pulled for the one on one interview. I was asked about factors of VMC, the are VERY big on that. I was also asked what makes a good freight pilot. The last part was tell me about the last light twin you flew. They almost go me here because I have been flying a 30000lb turboprop and some remembered some info on the seminole. After, that and some paperwork, I was sent back to finish my written. Overall, the interview took about 6 hours, I went back to the hotel and waited until 10pm to catch a Lear back to BWI. I went to the interview with 2300 hours about 1100+ was multi and 900 prior 121. I was not offered the job even though I know I did pretty well during the interview! I am not sure why I wasn't because there were a lot of guys with a lot less hours than me that I know of that were offered the job! Anyway, that is all I can think about. PM me if you have any more quesitons. Good Luck!!!

I am really not sure. I don't think they have anything against 121 guys, but the guy who did my interview was not really interested in the 121 flying I had done prior. He was more worried about general aviation stuff like VMC and critical engine knowledge. He kept asking me if I felt comfotable doing this type of flying and if crossing the marker at 160 knots was something I would be able to handle? I told him I was because when I flew turboprops, a lot of times we would have to cross the marker at up to 250kts! Not really sure what happened there. Sim was good, written was cake and the one on one went pretty well overall. Also, you do need 10 posts on here to be able to PM!

The written is alot of IFR and Weather. There is also alot of airport lights and approach lighting. The personal interview was just VMC, last light twin I flew, does blue line speed increase of decrease with weight, what makes a good freight pilot and why Airnet, that was as far as it went. If you want, just make a few posts somewhere and once you get to 10 posts you can pm. If you feel comfortable, you could post your email on here and I can send you my contact info. If not, we can find other ways to exchange info, just let me know!
