Default 135- Struggling with fuel prices?

So with all the 121 carriers failing, due at least in part to rising fuel costs, what are 135 carriers doing differently? Why haven't they been dropping like flies, left and right? Is it due to better pricing power?

I think that it's because we can pass on the added costs to the customer, and they are more willing to pay. Because honestly some of the people in this world are above the economy and it doesn't matter what the market does, they still make money.

Ummmm..... there are a few that have shut down due to the rise in fuel costs... it was one of two main reasons that my company closed the doors. I would say that the smaller companies may be in trouble.... but that is only my opinion.

belliott,

what power settings did you run the tubes at MA? 610/97% or 610/100%? Just curious...

Uhhhhh..... neither.... unless I am mistaken y'all run the doty rotal props with the 11U engines.... right? We had McCauley and the 12U engines.... we would run 630 and 97% or 100%...... I always liked to stick with 97% but then again I was just an FO..... so it wasn't really my call. You down in BQN now?

We are in a luxury market, these people will be the last to fall off the horse but will end up with the most broken bones.

Yeah we have the Dowty's on there. I'm in BUR/ONT. Was just curious what you ran for power settings.

Depending on weather or not we had to deal with weather ie. hurricanes and the sort we would obviously adjust power as necessary. How do you like AMF out of BUR/ONT?

I can't complain too much. I didn't have to commit to an outstation run in the tube, so I pretty much cover any vacations or sick calls. I like it that way, so I'm not stuck on the same run day in and day out.

I think the fuel prices are effecting all the on demand 135 companies. I know it is effecting us.
