I see many adverts from the Regionals, looking for DECs and F/Os on this very website. I'd bet the majority will be swooped up. Apply... Apply... Apply! The majors are slowing down. My your time from the cockpit be minimal.

How management goes home without a conscience is just all beyond.🤬

Isn't it 33% (or anything greater than 250) for NY?

Regardless I hope everyone lands on their feet. Hiring has slowed, but lots of jobs still out there.

What's the penalty for not sending out a WARN notice? WU may just have said F it, or didn't know any better.

They gave us 8 weeks' pay as severance, which is about the general penalty for violating the WARN act. They may have just paid the fine and called it a day. Also, it was prominently noted to us that this was not a furlough, it was straight layoffs. No expectations to return.

The problem with this is the majority of us are 1200-1400 hour guys for whom this was the first job outside of the CFI and Part 91 world. A lot of scrambling going on to try and get 1500 to be able to hop somewhere else. Appreciate your sentiments.

WARN act has some exceptions among them location. If all 150 are in say 4 differant locations that could be a reason for no notice.

WARN is federal. The 8 weeks of pay he says they received is the specified penalty for a WARN violation in the act. So they complied with money.

8 weeks of pay and not working is financially equivalent to 60 day notice of termination.

Still sucks for everyone involved.

Alaska, Grand Canyon tour operators, aerial survey. All are in the middle of their hiring season right now. Apply, apply, apply!
Good luck!

Interesting - I thought there was a state level component that could be more stringent than the federal level. But they complied with money...guess that's better than the alternative. Like you said, sucks for all involved. [/size]

Wheels Up stock, trading under the symbol UP, rose over 17% today. This is following a few days of smaller gains. I have searched for news articles, but have not found any that are recent.

Does anyone have any idea who or what is driving up the stock price?

Who knows. But the $2.22 current price is really $0.22.
