across all fleets and certificates. About 150 FOs in total from the bottom of all lists.

Damn. Sorry to hear this. What there any warning at all? I had not heard much about WU in quite some time.

Internal rumblings and rumors. They laid off some number of administrative staff a few weeks ago but never provided any concrete information as to numbers or from which departments.

I doubt there will be official acknowledgement of a total number from this fiasco, either.

I guess it would make sense to simplify the fleets at some point (maybe on the King Air, XL/XLS and X) if they want to save the business. Certainly painful for those people released. For those interested, I know the regionals are still hiring (including into the left seat) and paying better than ever these days.

Southwest just had a VP quit Southwest and go to Wheels Up. I was thinking that things turned around at WU. Wish you guys the best of luck .

How did they circumvent the requirement to send a 60 day WARN notice?

I'm guessing that the total number of pilots let go was likely below the threshold to issue a WARN notice.

I've got a hunch that this is likely going to send people running for the exits.

This article says 11% of pilots were laid off, concentrated in the KingAir Fleet. Did they lay off by seniority or by equipment?

Angry Furlough or Terminations

Wheels Up peeps,

I am so sorry to hear about the reduction in force there.. Having 5 furloughs under my belt, I know where you are coming from. I hear that the pilots were ruthlessly terminated, not respectfully furloughed with recall rights. Is this true? If so, the word should be spread about what they did and we should alll make them own it.

Best of luck to you all duing these challenging times..

The guy said 150 FOs were let go. That's way above the WARN threshold.
