I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "up to bigger carriers, no lateral moves", but every new-hire class at NetJets since August has had plenty of WU pilots in it.

Netjets isn’t a lateral move, they’re making plenty more money then we are at WUP… that isn’t to say everyone here wants to go there (I don’t)

His eventual goal is a legacy or cargo. But if he likes the lifestyle he’s also considering the fractionals.

I honestly don’t know much about the 135 world as I went cfi to RJ and haven’t looked back so would definitely appreciate some info I can give him about the pros and cons of both and what might be the fastest route to his end goal since he is 37. He does like the schedule a little better and the pay at wheels but likes the fast upgrades right now in the 121 world.

Thank you everyone we appreciate the help.

Your brother-in-law is pretty low time. He'd be better off going to a regional to gain some experience. He'd probably need 3000 or 3500 TT to upgrade.

Default Is Mountian really being merged.?

Why is Mountain advertising on the big orange site for a G-4 PIC and it is not going out to bid to the rest of the group. Every time I see one of the job adds it does not fit in with the new Wheelsup 360 pilot promise.

New to the whole remote base thing I'm curious, do you usually start your shift from your assigned base or are you mostly airline'd to meet the plane elsewhere?

Also, the 350i training is is for PIC type, sic?
Where and how long is the indoc, type, IOE training?

If this was addressed elsewhere, I apologize. Thank you

We’re home based not really remote based. Very rarely walk onto or off of an airplane without having to airline to pick it up.
When I went through (it’s been a while) it was a week of indoc and 2 weeks of aircraft initial. FlightSafety does our training. Where depends on availability. For the KingAir I had been to Wichita, Atlanta, and TruFlight in Lutz, FL. I believe they’re doing some in TEB also.
IOE is usually a tour or 2 for SICs, depending on how fast you pick up the flying skills and the administrative stuff and of course how much flying you do.

Much appreciate the info EMAW. Thank you. Perhaps an odd question, came home mostly every night for 30 years with flying jobs, how does one pack for 8 days on the road going non-stop? Must be down to a science for many.

Everyone does it differently. Personally I carry as little as possible. Some guys haul around a backpack along with their roll aboard, I don’t pack a uni for every day of the tour. Socks and underwear are the only things I pack for daily changing. You can also do laundry mid-tour, but there’s no guarantee you’ll have a long rest period to accomplish it.

When I was at Gama/WU I learned quickly not to overpack

2 trousers, 1 worn 1 packed
4 shirts summer, 1 worn 3 packed. 3 Shirts winter, 1 worn, 2 packed.
8 pair socks don’t skimp on feet
4 boxers, EXofficio travel quick dry that I wash in room and dry quickly
4 v neck T shirts EXofficio quick dry again
running type shorts
2 t shirts
winter 1 long sleev shirt, 1 t-shirt
I used convertible pants that legs zip off into shorts, started tour in Milwaukee in January 2 days later was in Nassau for 3 days, don’t box yourself in.
1 pair running shoes
wear company jacket with civies if needed.
Shaving kit
phone/iPad charger

Im with another operator now and do 7/7 tours but still pack the same. Don’t take too much, you will not have as much time as you think you will.
