I have an interview next week for the JSX side. A few threads back I found this info on the interview and the tech side, is this still accurate?
Any other tips from anyone about the process?
Thanks

—the in person interview was in dallas TX.
Tecnical - brief the ILS08 to burbank and circle to land .( remember to brief in case of an go around , once you land where you would plan to turn off the RWY and possible taxi )
Equal distance point on a runway / what u do If a tire blows out prior to V1 .read taf/ metar
Valid time of those . Know all the meanings such as A02 / PRESFR on the remarks section . CRM on an emergency . hold - what kind of entry / what speeds / what to say at the entry of a hold . Fuel planing to when to exit the hold .
Hope this helps .

One more question for JSX: Do you do training for recurrent on days on or days off? Thanks

Still better than the full 10%. But yes, as our flying starts expanding outside of CA this will go away (if it hasn’t already)
Don’t forget that California’s income tax rate is highly progressive. Your first 68k of earnings is taxed at 3.6% (assuming you are single and take the standard deduction). It’s even less if you are married, or you itemize.

43 out of 50 states have state income tax. California’s state income tax really doesn’t get that high until you get into the 300k plus range (single) or 600k married range.

And don’t forget that if your spouse is a resident of a community property state you get taxed by California on half of their income even if she is NOT a California resident.

Correct. By those rates, if you are single, the first $56,085 of taxable income is taxed at a total of $2,469.34. Assume you take the standard deduction, you could make $68,085 and only pay $2,469.34 to the state of California, or roughly 3.6% of your income. California also left in several itemized expenses that were cut during federal tax reform last year.

Was simply using random rounded numbers as an example, but I know that if you make $100k+ as a household the rate is close to 10%

Anyone else see the email they sent about the LAX area open house on 10/22?

The email says "retiring airline captains, regional airline pilots and current 135 pilots are encouraged to attend"

Would it be awkward or poor form to attend when I am not one of those things? Or would it be a sign of a "go getter" etc..

I am a CFI at 900 TT.
