the in person interview was in dallas TX.
Tecnical - brief the ILS08 to burbank and circle to land .( remember to brief in case of an go around , once you land where you would plan to turn off the RWY and possible taxi )
Equal distance point on a runway / what u do If a tire blows out prior to V1 .read taf/ metar
Valid time of those . Know all the meanings such as A02 / PRESFR on the remarks section . CRM on an emergency . hold - what kind of entry / what speeds / what to say at the entry of a hold . Fuel planing to when to exit the hold .
Hope this helps .

When I had a phone interview earlier in the year the only base was Burbank. That was a deal breaker for me since I would have to commute, get a crash pad, etc. Quality of life, expenses, and the pay cut that I would take to do it was not worth it, versus what I am doing now. So at that point I really was not interested and could not justify something that would be worse.
With the OAK & CCR bases it's a different story and worth consideration. When are the start and end times out of those bases? Commuting in the Bay Area can be a hassle though I have some fast/fun vehicles!

If you get selected for an interview, just know that 50% of the interview is you attending that mixer in the evening, having no more than 2 drinks, and being sociable. The tech/hr/chief pilot sessions are pretty straight forward as they’re just making sure you fit with the company culture. Think of the JSX culture as a mix between Southwest and Virgin America (RIP).

And also keep in mind that it may all change significantly once NavBlue comes online and we start bidding schedules by base. It's supposed to be much more transparent since you should be able to see the exact lines you will be flying instead of just bidding days off, but I'm curious to see what those lines look like and how similar they will be to the current schedules reference number of legs, number of overnights, and such.

Funny because I LOST a pilot to them because he lived 15 minutes from BUR. I couldn't argue with his reasoning...quick upgrade and no commute. QOL can be everything.

As of now, more than 51% of your flying is within California on JSX. THEREFORE YOU PAY CALIFORNIA STATE TAX WHETHER YOU LIVE THERE OR NOT. This will eventually change as X extends its flying outside of CA.
INC DOES NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. We pay taxes based on your home address.
