I am trying to get some info about JSX. For those who are there now what is your opinion of the job? Pros and cons?
Are they still hiring CA's off the street?
I am retired 121 with previous EMB 135,145 CA time.
Are schedules commutable? I live in S FL so may have to commute for some time.

If someone would like to PM me that would be fine.

Thanks

I’m here now. Definitely hiring street captains. Mostly home every night, but some overnights. We have an OPF base, so you could ask to be based there. Otherwise, if you wanted to commute you’d need a crashpad since it’s mainly out and backs. 2-4 legs a day, short hops, at least here in LA. South Florida will be a lot of HPN turns or DAL. Pay is $105,000 for captains, figured through a daily rate. 14 days on, (not in a row)16 off. Just starting PBS. All FBO’s or our own terminals.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is the training still like in the previous posts?

Do you have any idea when they may be hiring for OPF or how long it would take to transfer there from LAS or DFW?

Training is at CAE Dallas for initial. About a month from indoc to the checkride. PIC type. You get a rental car too. I think they are hiring for OPF, we don’t have many down there. At this point transferring is just asking crew scheduling if you can move. They basically ask where you want to be based and then put you there.

I see the pay rates. What are the FO schedules like for example DAL base? Or is it variable/on-call? TIA

Default PHX base

For those in the know:

How hard is it to get PHX as a base for a new hire FO?

Perhaps, it's a small base. Only 3 FO's currently. It's kind of the forgotten and overlooked base. For awhile (not sure how it is presently) they were just doing OAK-BUR runs. Some of their captains TDY down in BUR.

They are only hiring for LAS at this time. On their website they say DFW and LAS, but just hiring LAS. Do not know how long to XFR.
A friend I know is DFW based and TDY to OPF for Feb.
