Packing cubes are your friend. You can get them on Amazon.

A great thing about working at Gama is there is no need for a flight bag. All that is required for you to bring is your licenses, medical, passport, etc. Most other guys bring along a backpack filled with computer, food, or any number of items I don’t want to know about.
hahaha ...thx for the info.

Most go straight to survival / 1st aid training after Indoc, then to the sim.
To keep the plane cool, put it in the hanger, use the window shades in the cockpit, darken the cabin windows and turn on the cockpit and cabin blowers. Once the engines are started the A/C does a good job cooling the aircraft but those few minutes boarding and briefing passengers can be uncomfortable. At some FBOs we have our own air carts.
No control over early vs late trips. Scheduling will assign as needed.
Start days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You can request a particular day but they generally assign as needed. Your start day doesn't change once assigned.
Start days usually start fairly early. It depends. Obviously they want to get you to your assigned aircraft asap and to allow for delays etc. If you duty on before 6am you get an extra $500. Also if you arrive home after midnight in the time zone you started in on day 8 you get an extra $500.
Thanks for the info!

I used to use squeeze bags from m REI. Not sure what they are called, but fill them with clothes, zip them, then roll them toward the one-way valve at the bottom to squeeze the air out of them. They work well, but became a hassle. Now I just roll my stuff tight and if I can’t fit it, I don’t need it.

I heard directly from the Chief Pilot a few weeks ago that they will hire someone with ATP minimums. If I remember what he said correctly, they want a couple hundred ME hours. They also are looking for someone who has gone through some sort of standardized training (135, type school, etc.). They are looking for something in your history that shows you will make it through training successfully.

They will send you to ATP-CTP school if you need it. Company Ground>ATP-CTP>Sim Training>IOE. There is a different pay scale if you do this. If I remember correctly it is 45k until completion of IOE, then it bumps to 50k for the first year.

Default Bases

I know Wheels up has loosened there pilot bases over the years. Now it seems that anything with at least Regional Airline service will suffice? Curious if they’d consider KFLG?
Thanks!

I highly doubt it. Not served by enough airlines and it seems the only flights that aren’t seasonal are Skywest/ to Phoenix. The time they sent me to a plane in FLG, I airlined into PHX and they rented us a car to make the drive.
