3.4 hours prior to a Metro check ride??? Or do you do training at FSI first?

They do it all in house. Only captains use FSI for recurrent. Everyone had different times before the checkride. Mine was 3.4 hours in the plane, but most FOs were somewhere around that number too. It was approximately 3 flights before checkride time. We had to share the FSI systems book so make friends with someone and study together if you can.

Yikes! Is all of your flying two crew? Or do you do single pilot?

I do some of the training at Ameriflight and we do five 3 hour sims and three 2 hour prior to the check ride. And then two weeks minimum of OE before release to the line. I can't imagine handling the tube with less than that.

It was mostly 2 crew, but if it called for it and there were no FOs available, then they single pilot it. Definitely not uncommon.
