I don't want to make too much of the commuter hotels but this is a big boost to QOL not to mention safety. I would hate to see the opportunity missed to set a new precedent along with the strong commuter clause this is the next best thing to having home basing. Every negotiator can now go back to the table and say if Commutair can do this than why can't we? Commuter hotels will quickly become the new normal. It's great PR for the airlines because no more news stories about pilots living in parking lots or sleeping in crew lounges and will likely reduce the number of fatigue calls. This is a big step in the right direction.

As a FO starting 3rd year pay, I am not sure $33 an hr is enough to justify my ****ty commute to Newark now that CLE will be closing up shop. I think 3rd year pay needs to be more in line with other carriers before I vote yes...especially with the upgrade time ticking up. Its still easy enough to jump ship to a place like compass and get 36 year two.

Again, per the LOA, the hotels are only provided the night before beginning a trip or reserve. They do nothing during a reserve block or at the end of a trip. Using the hotel provision will only mean even less time at home.

Regardless of "how" good this deal is, it's a step in the right direction as opposed to the nonsense going on at PSA. This company gets that they're going to have to try and be better to their employees to keep them. The successful whipsaw started the spiral downward, maybe this will cause an upward trend and we can stop this ridiculous degradation that the pilots who are desperately doing anything they can to push other pilots (who actually have some integrity) out of their way.

So then you'll have a crappy commute to DTW or MSP instead, with no option for a hotel if you have to come in the night before. And if we get new-hires in the door, upgrades will soon follow.

2 hour drive to Detroit...but that's really not my point. I am of the opinion that we we really have some leverage here, and if certain people really like their jobs in North Olmsted they are going to have to play ball with us.

Lol. You think people will want to work there if this passes. Lol.

You don't quite have the monumental leverage you think you have. Yes there's money to eat into but
at a certain point it doesn't quite add up on the balance sheets and it makes more sense to declare ch 11 or go TU. You're getting a huge raise, and we'll have the highest starting pay in the regional industry. I think it's ironic the senior guys are the ones who are against it, as they stand to lose the most if this place can't keep going.

Despite the tangent this thread has found itself on, I think it's safe to say the general consensus is that this is a big step in the right direction, and a good precedent for the industry. I do think it will pass.
