Yeah I hunch that management finagled a way to get the retiring airframes from Piedmont, so that Piedmont can take and staff the Eagle 175s. Then CommutAir is going to merge with what's left of Great Lakes and finally open up that Denver base, and THEN, the Republic Q400's will start coming over and they'll have to start a United flow through program to get new hires in the door and upgrade times will be about 10 months forever. Not trying to start any rumors though, just some crazy fun time day dreams based on fatigue induced hallucinations.

My last fatigue induced hallucination involved a pink elephant with a top hat and a monicle...it got weird.

I'm pretty sure if that we're true management would be dangling those airframes and their potential effect on upgrade times in front of us rather than new pay rates.

If I'm not mistaken, United owns the Q400's that Republic operates. If Republic's reliability is as bad as some suggest, it could be feasible that United pull them and give them to another Dash 8 operator, IF said operator can prove that they can staff them. DHC 8 type is common across the Dash 8 range and a raise in 1st year pay could well be the carrot that Commut Air needs to dangle to secure the staffing.
Republic could be up for this too. The E series is their baby and you would think they would prefer to focus their resources and staffing on that airframe.
Just an idea. Time will tell.

I really dont think there is any possible way we could even begin to think about considering staffing new airplanes. In fact yea lets just not go there

^This.

We haven't hit the "two captain operating a flight" shortage, but its not far off.
