ASA to CommutAir?

Upgrade and new hire classes running every week through the summer. Then another round of the same in January-July 2015. Then another round in January-July 2016. Upgrade is right at 3.5 years right now, should be down to 3 by the summer. After the next round of flows(July 2015) it should be 2 years or perhaps a little less.
Not telling you to pull the trigger, just want you to have all the facts.

LAX is junior but not overwhelmingly so. Any base is possible within a few months, as vacancy notices are coming out every 10 days. We have 500 pilots and 315 of them *should* flow to Delta in the next 2.5 years. Add to that other major airline hiring.

My backstory...
-5 year FO at Pinnacle (the original 9E), now 1 year in at CommutAir
-Still commuting so no big change there
-0 TPIC
-3900 TT
-Pinnacle has to park 140 CRJ200's in the next 2 years meaning I would see no upgrade, or possibly end up furloughed
-Upgrades at CommutAir are hovering around the 2 year mark
-The pay does suck, but I've been able to manage it
-Good relationship between the pilot group and management
-Guaranteed flying for United for the next 4 years on the Q200/Q300
-Generally a good/fun pilot group
-A recent msg from management says a big announcement in January for some sort of "career progression" to United. Most likely just an interview imo
I don't know the dynamic at ExpressJet but the Pinnacle pilot group is REALLY unhappy. The attitude change and good atmosphere at CommutAir was a real relief for me. I actually enjoy working now. Just be forewarned that with the upcoming 117 rules and the nature of our flying, expect minimum days off and up to 6 legs a day. It can be pretty tiring but the Dash is a fun airplane to fly. I've been there one year and I'm 50% up the FO seniority list. My hope is one more year for an upgrade. I too left Pinnacle for some TPIC. Let's hope it works out. Good luck to you.

I jumped from CommutAir to Compass in November after 18 months in the Dash. Really enjoyed my time there but my commute was horrible, the upgrade had slowed way down and I still wouldn't be there based on the current hold. Fantastic people but I didn't take a pay cut going to first year at Compass, I'll just leave it at that.

How do you vote no to the new TA but seriously considers accepting a job at CommutAir which is significantly inferior pay and worse work rules even compared to the proposed concessionary XJT TA??
My humble advice is to stay put. Surely you'll upgrade within 1.5 years at ASA. And you'll probably upgrade within 1.5 years at CommutAir as well. Do you want to make 9th year captain pay at ASA or 2nd year captain pay at CommutAir?

Our SAPA reps have already voted down one pay package that wasn't sufficient. It included our current rates with a raise but SAPA is standing strong against BHO. So we are standing our ground but nobody gives a crap because it's not a unionized negotiation
