Commutair's flow to United not happening.
Good carrot to attract new hires and to keep all the current disgruntled employees but the big shots at United figure it's too good a tool to continue the whipsaw. With greater than 2 year upgrades, poor pay and substandard contract rules it'll be tough for the recruiters to sell that place. Not only that, places like JetBlue & Spirit aren't even looking at Prop guys with no glass time. What's the next lie? More airplanes?

It's the favorite rumor around here these days. A flow to United. Hinted at from very early on in the training process. Supposedly something was going to be announced earlier this month.
In the meantime FOs keep bailing for other regionals.

Wild, flows always work eh? How senior is C5's pilot group? How's the QOL these days? I ask because 6 years ago I went to AWAC over them, and just would wondering where I'd be now.

The seniority list they publish doesn't have DOH on it (at least not the one I've seen), but just from talking to other Captains hired around that time it would've taken you three years to upgrade, and you would be a pretty senior Capt in IAD, less so in EWR, even less so in CLE. In any case you'd be on the top half of the Capt list. You'd still struggle to get more than 15 days off.

Even some chief pilot from CommutAir was giving rumor of the flow through.
They must be desperate to attract new hires, since all regional have minimum 1500 hours now, so guys who have 1500 hours, they all go to jet carriers. Tubo-prop operators like CommutAir is hearting bad to fill the new hire classes.
In fact, they can't fill new hire class, and captains are doing right seat also.
Good luck.

By contract we can only have 4 Captains also qualified in the right seat. If they are assigned right seat by the company they are paid Capt rates. If they bid a trip in the right seat they are paid FO rates.
We seem to be Ok at filling classes, and the sole recruiter doesn't pull any punches. It is what it is. Keep them around after they get hired is another story.
