Well the big problem we are having getting new seaplane guys down here is that, because of the new regs introduced in August, you now have to have 50 hours in category and class to take an ATP.

This means that in order to obtain an AMES ATP you need at least 50 hours AMES. We have been working with the FAA hoping to find a way to get around this but, at this time, anyone wanting to fly the seaplane here will need this.

What if you already have an AMEL ATP? Do you still need the 50hrs AMES to get the add on?

Yes. It is category and class. ASEL, ASES, AMEL, AMES are different categories and classes.

For someone that has ATP MES, with more than 50 hours in category and class, what are the answers to the usual questions for a new hire down there? Pay, QoL, cost of living, upgrade time and pay, etc...?

You caught me, my intention with the second mention of pay was related to the pay scale after upgrade.

Typical week is 5 out and backs to San Juan. I need some King Air experience, ATP, and most of all willingness to live the Island Life. If anyone is interested shoot me a private message. We will be filling this likely be filling this position in next 3 weeks.
