Thanks for that good info and congrats on the announced pay & financial incentives! So how does it work with no overnight trips on the PAX side as far as days off are concerned . . . like do you get back to base late at night and are expected to fly the next morning after the min. required rest period? Or is it a one day on one day off type of deal?

Don't know about Alaska, but deal with AA seems to be pretty solid once the company can get enough pilots onboard

SIL day trips is the incentive to live in base and be home virtually every night (day if based in AFW). If day trips aren't your thing, all good, but the only other regional in Florida is Envoy out of MIA. They've got a 4 x hotel room per month and schedule flexibility six times per rolling 12-month period, if you have difficulty during your commute. GoJet and CommutAir also offer 4 hotel rooms per month. Not much, but better than nothing. Can't really think of any other regional that offers some sort of housing aside from a call-in honest commuting policy. At Endeavor Air, positive space travel is currently offered to all pilots when commuting to their base to report to work. In the end, commuting is a quality of life killer (adding more time away from home), at least at the regional level. Avoid it if you can. But understandable if you're tied down to your current locale due to family, spouse/partner job, etc. You're better off trying to get on with a 135 outfit that has homebasing/gateway bases (and better pay) like FlexJet, NetJets, XOJET, etc.

Yes, regional pay across the board, no matter how you spin it, will never be sufficient at least in the right seat. But that's by design. If you're able to bypass the regionals through 135 or 91 flying, you could get on with one of the LCC/ULCCs that have plenty of bases in Florida and better pay in the long run.

The Freighter
That freighter flying looks hard. It’s AFW not DFW, a different version of the ATR (partly analog) 2.5 hour legs to sit for 3 hours at an outstation with no toilet or galley on board. Flying through the Midwest in Winter AND Summer is tiring unless you’re looking at building some good IFR time. I’d imagine it would get old quick but maybe I’m wrong about the whole thing.
I would see most newbies, especially Capts, spending some quality freighter time either initially or anytime while on RSV regardless of base.
There are also a lot of targets you must meet for all the bonus money and as someone else mentioned, it’s mostly company discretion with a deadline 1.5 years away. The bonuses are already tied to 2 and 5 years so you actually may not get them.

Everyone I've seen/heard from coming out of training is getting the base of their choice. If you want AFW, you get it, if you want TPA or FLL you get it. From my understanding, the company tried forcing people to go to AFW and found that when they did, those people would then resign. Seeing they are short on pilots, it sounds like they've changed their philosophy and they're doing what they can to entice people to go to AFW (by offering an extra $300/month, 30% override, and in some cases even paying for hotels and rental cars). I don't deny that the flying is rough, but there are some people that actually want AFW (because they live nearby or want the cargo experience for future endeavors or whatever)... I'm not one of those people, but there are people out there. But I can tell you for a fact that the company isn't forcing anyone to go out there at this time, it's not worth losing qualified pilots.

It is being evaluated to continue past October since DL has had a 92% completion rate since the implementation of it. If DL gets it, then 9E gets it. (Pure rumor mill) is UA got it in their AIP. If so you can bet DL will keep it. Good time to be at 9E & DL right now (unless you are on the CRJ200).

Have you seen the schedules? I’d be interested to see what they look like.
