I was at one time a real big supporter of this company, I even defended this place against detractors. But I was sadly, mistaken. I have witnessed 1 person get fired for reporting cheating (which they categorized as this person lying) so I hope she does what Kenny Edwards did as well as a few others and file under the whistle blower act- 2 of my good buddies that started with me get canned by a guy who told him they were both not going to make it before they even set foot in the sim for thier first sim session and now......me.

So this is what happened. when we first started in the CPT I struggled because my BAI INST skills were rusty. On top of that, my grandfather died. I was warned no to go back home to attend by a certain pilot who I will not mention because I fear they will retaliate on him. He told me this company has a reputation of firing peole for going home for funerals, sick love ones, etc.

I talk with the chief pilot, Chris Eason who warns me also in so many words going home would not be wise. I went anyway on a company approved leave. While at home I went to Sporty's academy and got my issues with BAI INST ILS fixed. THANKS SPORTY'S!!

I then returned and was RECOMMENDED to continue and put up for stage check. WHile doing the stage, the sim broke. I was told i would have to go to Orlando. Lilly then tells me she wanted to gage my progress on the emergency action items and limitations since while I was gone I didn't study because of the funeral. She said it would be a mock oral then said if I failed, I would be sent home. I said this is not how we do things and we don't do mock orals, this is not sanctioned by the company. She told me I had to know what my priorities are. (a direct jab at my funeral leave.)

So we start this thing and I was answering her questions before she completed asking them. She then went into the sys / om vol 1 and told me I had to know this 100%. When of course, I didn't, she said I would have to meet with the chief pilot.
During this whole time, a Captain that taught the sys class that day sat in. He then lectures me by saying that I know you don't know me, but I know you and heard about your going home. You proved to us we don't have first place in your life, we expect you to give us first place and nothing is to interfere with that. He says because of my actions I would be given an oppurtunity to pursue other endeavors.

The next day I meet with the cheif pilot who gives the choice to resign or be terminated. I ask on what grounds? He tells me I struggled all through training. I asked him for examples and he got silent. I said Chris let's be straight. I told him what the captain told me, he simply shrugs, acknowledged it and says what are you going to do?
I chose to resign. The kicker? When I asked about going home he says once you resign, we don't provide transport home.
So I go back to the hotel room, pack my gear, and jumpseat home. I will mail them thier stuff later.

I am, sadly, not the only one who went through this. We had a guy in SAAB upgrade whose uncle died and while he was home, his mom gets seriously ill. He takes FMLA and when he returns, he is banned from the SAAB upgrade class.
He is sent back to the 1900 and the company is actively seeking his termination. These people have no ethics, empathy or morals. I do not wish to work for a company that treats it's employees like this then tells new hires when folks don't make it some kind of white washed lie. Like the girl who supposedly washed during the oral, it wasn't that she washed, they were ****ed she reported cheating. Lilly told her and all of us she would be fired right before our last day of sys. They washed her within the first 15 minutes of the oral.
Just so you know, that place I thought had changed, but it's still the same old gulfstream.

MJ:

You struggled in training but managed to keep a cheery attitude throughout and I respected you for that, but this post is not characteristic of the guy I know. I truly believe you are allowing your emotions to get the better of you and strongly encourage you to take some time to do some self examination into the causes of your struggles. If I may also suggest looking for an internal cause of your problems as you will never be able to rise above your current level until you take it upon yourself to improve upon your flaws. I will not deny you had some external problems that caused you some trouble but will say that, to one extent or another, we all did.

I wish you all the best and hope that you see fit to rethink whether your slander is warranted.

To everyone from Silver who posts on here: I would suggest we give "On Autopilot" time to lick his wounds. Try to imagine how you would feel if you had returned home empty handed and resist from piling on the abuse. We are better than that.

To "What": Cruz is unavailable as he is on his first day of IOE.

As always if anyone has questions about the company and how my training experience was they are free to PM me.

Hey, you know I have the greatest respect for you but this is not slander. The only struggle I had is when I first got into the CPT and my BAI scan and ILS was off. I knew I needed to practice and did just that. I spent money at Sporty's to fix my issues. I am a man, and I would have been the first to admit that I wasn't ready for this. Had I not gone to SPORTY'S I am sure I would not have gotten pass both sit 6 and 7. Armando RECOMMENDED ME for stage. Did not complete it because the simCPT broke. So did Lilly give any of you guys a mock oral? Did she tell you you have to know everything in the OM1 SYS Vols? Did you have a Captain sit in on this oral and tell you what would happen to you because you went back home for a funeral?

Hey man, I don't have to lie or make this stuff up. Now it's being said I struggled through training? REALLY? I mean REALLY? Cmon. Then they tried to maroon me in Florida by saying they don't provide transport home. Hey, I said my peace, folks can believe it or say I'm full of it. Aside from this, it sure did take them a while to figure out I was "struggling"- or passing what they threw at me. Geez first they say one person got sent home for "lying", and 2 others for not being able to fly, now I struggled all through training? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Okay- DONE. Ughhh in my opinion they have no ethics, empathy or morals. That's my opinion. So Man do well on your IOE. Take care. Now DONE!

On a side note, I wish you all the best and be careful, fly safe.

Standby to watch the evolution of new hires as they go from defending a company to blasting it. Happens at many places once the new job feeling wears off and you are on leg 8 of a 16 hour day exhausted and still have one more to go with a few MEL's and WX.

Level C sim requires 85/15 unless the applicant meets certain requirements. 61.159 mins for SIC training...theres other requirements based on the category of training.

121 appendix H....this stuff isn't a secret, look it up before making false statements on a board discussing training where new pilots are looking for information.
Thanks for cherry picking at not reading what it was about. I was responding to an Eagle guy who said they had to take an airplane check because of the sim. It is not that simple.

It is still a function of quals. Look at Silver. They are using a level D dim but still doing a two part check ride.

Reading all this doom and gloom sure is discouraging. I don't see how training here is different than another other turbo prop operator. I'd known several to pass Dash-8, EMB-120, etc training with 200-300 hours. Many of which have less than 10 hours of actual. I hope it's a matter of good attitude and willingness to learn getting thru training at Silver as it is anywhere else.

Still discouraging though. Hmm.
