EAS will go to the wayside both from our govt push to save money and from small time regionals whose business model revolves around this type of revenue. There is some places where it's a must like Alaska but for the most part my guess is it'll trickle away. With pax slowly trickling away you'll see the subsidy be substantially less or completely gone. My .02 fwiw which isn't much.

Its not new and you know that. The shoals has always been a problematic issue with their loads. That was the best overnight Silver had and why they took it away beats me. loved that 24 hr overnight in MSL. Easier and reliable to drive to HSV and take a DL flight and actually arrive at a jetway and not wait 20 mins for a bus to take you to the very ends of E37. If your DL flight craps out theres flight options on other carriers out of HSV. in MSL when the flight craps out thats it.
The CLE market i think was in question for some time now, lack of crews and maintenance have plagued that area for a long time. Wasn't silver losing FKL or one of those places anyway?

And just in case anyone is wondering when the EAS contracts are up for renewal, here's the list:
Subsidized EAS report for non-Alaska communities - NOV 2013
RFP's (Request for Proposal) will go out 30JUN2014 for every airport in the CLE system (that Silver operates to). I suspect BFD and FKL won't make the $1,000/passenger subsidy limit.

BFD and FKL will probably be on the chopping block come EAS contract renewal time.

I heard that EK is on the chopping block, the company is trying to get former FO who left to fly hawkers back into the company as the CP.
I miss u guys...but I certainly don't miss mgmt or crew scheduling.

I actually accepted the position.... Myself and a few of the street captains are going to spearhead the Q400 implementation.
