Silver Airways

Boy you sure do love the past and some sort of infatuation with me. 2 years is hardly recent and them giving me a shot was more a product of the time than them as a company. I'm not talking down to anyone I'm informing current and potential future applicants what this place really is all about. I'm not going to leave some thread when there is still work to be done and that's keeping people informed about the truth of Silver.
I love seeing people basically pretend to change who they are, and were, and try to play high and mighty.
And yes - you are talking down to Chrisw and the other pilots with the 'just helping mgmt' type of rhetoric. Tell me Cruz how you would have (or did) answer those who tried to tell you the same thing.

Agree - but you didn't leave when people told you the same things.
And these others re different from you how?
You didn't seem to concerned with being a tool of mgmt when you wrote these gems:
Maybe you ought to be a little more understanding of the pilots left behind who are still just trying to do the same things you did Cruz.
And these others re different from you how?

Post #14 It's a new paint scheme on an old plane and if you think this place is even the slightest like the old GIA than you are sadly mistaken. People that talk trash are the ones that aren't here and as someone that is; I think it's leaps and bounds better than it's former self.
Post #18 I couldn't tell you whats changed since I haven't been here before the buyout, but from what everyone is saying it's better*
Post #30 I don't have time to look up useless facts about the old GIA, but here is a difference the new Silver Airways gave all full time employees including us new hires a very nice little bonus.
Post #46 The new owners have quite the financial backing and I guess the saying happy employees makes loyal employees applies here.

You're referencing posts nearly 2 years old do you think after the UA/AA merger that people will say o man this place is going to explode with growth and new planes etc. etc. possibly and then it could completely turn to garbage like Silver did in a matter of years. I wasn't about to leave when there was massive growth and a good outlook but when it all came to a screeching halt you betcha I'll bail.

Just in the mean time climb on down from that high and mighty pedestal.
Yes - these are posts from 2 years ago. They show that you were no different than the fellow co-workers of your that you now accuse of just helping management. Tell us Cruz - do these posts look like someone who wasn't helping management or someone who jumped at the job even though he was already talking bad about the company to begin with before he was even done with the interview process?
From the Gulfstream thread:
Post #137 Half way done with interview..... Think of the worst company you've ever worked at..... It just became better than this place ever could be.
Post #155 Financially it's not feasible for me to finish the checkrides and then instruct. I make decent money now and while a job at any regional is a loss in pay compared to current salary it's a somewhat "stable" job. Plus I can just continue to build time in my own airplane which imo is great.
Post# 182 They dropped me off at the airport and all was done. Everyone was real nice and my only personal gripes are that we all seem to be misled about paying for training there and signing a contract. That is my only negative about them. I wouldn't mind working there minus all this contract garbage.
Post #184 Yes I am and I'm a man of my word in the end that's all I have, but them.... they haven't been honest with a single soul since the minute they called me/us from the get go. Maybe if they were truthful from the beginning I wouldn't have 5-10 different PM's from people wondering what they heck is going on. Not one person has told me a similar story.
Post #190 First off GLA hasn't given me a yes or a no, but I'm probably not going to take it even if I am offered the position. If GIA didn't have a training contract then yes I would like to work for them more so than GLA and here is why. They pay more per hour on the same A/C and given where I live the commute is easier on myself and family.
I'm not blaming you for taking the job. Look where it got you. All I'm suggesting is that you stop looking down your nose at your past co-workers and making it seem like they are part of some trouble that you managed to hold onto your high moral standards and avoid. They are you Cruz.

There is a lot being lost in translation through the Internet. If you were discussing this in person with me you'd realize I'm not looking down on people so much as I'm trying to have an open healthy discussion as to the reasons they should or shouldn't stay. Everyone can do whatever they please with their careers it's not mine to make or destroy. What I will publically come out and say is how the company is run and treats its employees. Every company has issues some more than others.

All you're concerned with is getting your upgrade and that's not going to happen with nobody coming in to replace you. That's pretty selfish to want others to wallow in the mire known as Silver just so you can upgrade get your time and get out. This is aviation though so selfishness is nothing new or surprising.

Not to start a highschool who's cooler than who but I've received quite a few texts supporting this funny subject and you're in the minority on this one. I don't have any problem with you and gladly would walk your stuff in at my place if you wanted me too. I don't have any problem helping out the majority at Silver in leaving if they want.
