Just remember... when there are hot topic items where that forum is pushed as the appropriate place to hold the discussion, yet registration takes long enough for the topic to pass, you lose the attraction and draw of the forum.

It seems the Silver end date is 10/26 but 9K doesn't start until 12/1.

The last class did not have direct entry captains. All the captains in that class were either 1. Transition or 2. Returning from military or medical loa. As a matter a fact there was a guy with several years of Saab captain experience that is an FO here at silver. Everyone may now stop getting their panties in a wad and enjoy their weekends.
I was that guy (former Mesaba, etc). There was also a former Colgan Saab guy in my class. And 2 other new hires. The rest were Silver transitions and returns as said. As for my story- My sim partner was sent home right before #6 sim. My checkride was rescheduled to after LOFT so instructor could fill in right seat and so FAA could observe to sign off Silver's check airman. I live by MSP so I had my car. Since my ride was re-scheduled and I had to get car back home I couldn't make the Silver booked flight to FLL. I called that next morning to explain. The FAA had my paperwork for the check airman sign off and since I was typed already I had nothing to turn in at FLL. I was told I would be called back to schedule IOE. In the mean time FLICA showed I was awarded Beech-1900 captain in BFD (after many deletions and manipulations by the company). After Labour Day I got a call to talk about scheduling IOE. I asked about how that would work since I wanted to go to my awarded Beech-1900 upgrade class. I was transferred to Knapp. He said I was seat-locked for a year. I didn't think thatwas right and I looked in the contract. There is NO seat-lock in the case of a upgrade. I wrote back that I wanted the upgrade or I quit. I was happy to come here and start over as an FO, but if I was by some miracle of Silver's FLICA manipulation awarded captain I wanted it. I recieved no reply. Instead I was scheduled for a trip on the other side of the country starting the next morning without my knowledge. Now I look like the bad guy, which I think was the whole idea since Silver needs warm bodies in the right seat of the Saab, not Beech-1900 captains. I typing on a new phone. Sorry if this reads like crap. Anyway, watch out for yourselves with this bidding. I suspect much foul play.

OLDSF,

Were you brought in as a Captain/Check Airman? I'm assuming you ended up quitting?

It's not a thing to apologize about its just your a victim of managements foul play on seniority. It's not the first or last that they screw someone over. Sadly they don't know their a$$ from their mouth here.

Well, EK left a message that my pay was being withheld until he got my company ID, so obviously my ultimatum was rejected. Quit... Fired? I don't know. But I know my time at Silver is at an end. I think their concept was good but their execution sucked. Lots of issues. Simple things like getting manuals, charts, uniforms, etc... But you guys already know all about that. Plus more complicated things like basing, staffing, communication. Too many old Gulfstream ways of doing things. My humble opinion for what it's worth.

See ya around.

Glad I was only paid 3 hours when I was supposed to get 64 thanks Silver! I should have just burned up all my sick time and vacation if I knew I was going to be screwed over on pay. So for any of you hopefuls that plan on leaving or want to I'm not the only one this happened to 2 others in my base were also not paid correctly! Don't leave w/o any of your vacation/personal/sick time unused.

I think it's pretty low to burn all that up and not give a notice. I did everything ethically right but it doesn't matter with them.
