And the real city argument is getting old...[/QUOTE]
Old?!?!?! How is that getting old??? Lets get real here. More than half of our pilots commute and being based in Lower Bum****** is ridiculous. Airline management with any brains would realize that hub basing is much more efficient in a variety of ways. I'm sure it would attract more pilots and make the current pilots QOL much better.

To each their own if you want to be based in the middle of nowhere going from $36 an hour to $20 an hour as opposed going to another pasture making $26 an hour first year and $38 an hour second year being based in a real place.

Living in a terrible outstation based city was bad but the main motivator to leave was the commute. It's pretty sad that the average commute for me was 12 hours. Bring in the lack of commutable lines and a 14 day off line became 7.

You lose part of your soul on each leg of a 4 leg commute.

Ive said it before... This place isnt for everybody... There are more people that like it the way it is than not... And if it made SOO much sense going to hub basing why isnt that way now?
Oh thats right, because the people who get paid more than any of us to make educated business decisions are idiots...
I really get a kick out of those people who have left and come on here with this "see thats why I left!" attitude looking for some kind of validation for their decision...
Two months and they'll be wining on the new airlines forum...

That was just to hang out with one of my homies in Daytona Beach. If I were hub based it would have been a maximum 2 leg commute. Sometimes it is a 3 leg commute just to arrive in a different city in the same state I started my commute in.
