I think the 1900 FO's are going to be sad...

For anyone hoping they are going to give a raise- if they wanted to be on par with other airlines they would have to bump pay by 5-7 dollars/hr. with 250 pilots on staff that comes to a yearly total of $1,125,000 to $1,575,000.
That's just pilots based on the FO scale. So I admit it may not be precise but it's close enough. They might give a raise, but it will still be substandard. So I say keep dreamin' guys

We all knew the 1900's were going away. This doesn't mean there aren't bigger things going on. Do you think VPC put all this money into Silver to just paint some planes and fly to the bahamas? They could have done that with the planes we had. These things don't happen over night.... We just launched Sabre last month!

What? You're not satisfied with being a DEC but you want to fly FO also? Why not let the ATP qualified FOs that want to get JM'd get JM'd or the RSV's fly a little? FO's get crap money to begin with and JM pay wouldn't hurt either...Don't you think that's better?

Wouldn't say it is drinking kool aide either. I personally think it is only reasonable and logical to expect the investment company that owns Silver to continue to grow the airline as we are currently no where near juicy enough to sell off.
I think they learned a lot last year with the rapid expansion of the Saab fleet and tackling Sabre pretty much at the same time. I honestly think (and I could be wrong) that Silver is in a much needed lull period before the next phase of growth. When or what that will be... who knows??

this makes me wonder about future captain upgrades... I haven't had honest time to read the whole CBA contract, but... does it mention about an order to captain upgrade, or is it just on an as needed basis depending on who bids for it? Reason I ask is... the people that have the type (like myself in a few weeks) don't need to do the ATP or PIC ride... it's just a recurrent/transiton type event that won't take nearly as long as someone doing the whole transition course, which saves $$$. So, financially if I'm understanding the captain upgrade right, it'd be cheaper ($$$ wise here) to upgrade someone who already has their type, and just got 1,000hrs 121/135 than someone who has 1,000+ but no type... I know Silver is all about the $$$ pinching.
You're kidding right? Please tell me you don't think this way. Your post seems a bit opportunistic.

Ya thank you for saying so. Silver people read this shyit and we know this. Message to anyone listening that is concerned about employee retention. Make one person. Anyone. New hire or someone junior to me a captain without offering me the job first and I will quit the next day. Things have changed here. The pilots are the valuable commodity. The only reason FO's work for the second worst paying regional in the country is the expected fast upgrade. I could get off of food stamps flying an RJ awfully quick with the demand out there right now if they mess up potential CA time. And to think people called me the silver cheer leader. I beg you silver show us something good and do it fast or this place is gonna crumble. I am starting to regret passing up an fo job on a 150 seat airplane for twice the money I make now.
