Yesterday I did my interview with CP Chriss and a FO. Was easy and yes the FO give me the scenario where you are at ground ready to fly and something on the systems broke and is a required equipment. The Captain tell you that have being flying the airplane for 20 years and that's no a problem. What would you do?
Then the written where I score well, its easy and they give you a jepp app chart for the exam wich have like 10-15 from that chart. The minimum its 70 to score.
The sim, was like flying Flight Simulator (not that easy, lol) but you have to watch all the time your altitude. I flew Sarasota departing South to 2k and the flying to the VOR and tell him the entry for whatever holding they give (I don't even need fly the circle). And last vector for the ILS. Tip, keep 500ft per mins. on you GS. The guy was nice with me, he set everything for you. I just use the throttle and yoke. He also say that he expect me there on Febrary.
The Airline is really growing that was said by the sim instructor. And he has being working with them for many years.
Now just wait for the email or call wish have to be on this week or next one that what Lily (I'm not sure of her name) said.
Btw... Next class it's Febraury 20th, I think!

I wasn't trying to be an arrogant jerk as you claim I am. The CPT is exactly what you said it is, a procedures trainer, not for someone to get instrument proficient on it. It's for the profiles and call outs ONLY, it's not for IFR flying. Do we all have different backgrounds? YES! Is it okay to use the excuse of "...they understand" for not being instrument proficient? No. The training department should not bear the weight of pushing a trainee through because they have poor IFR skills. When you get up here, things will happen so fast in the sim, you will not have the time to worry about your IFR skills, you're there to learn to fly the airplane, not build your IFR skills up. I'm trying to help you by giving you a heads up. If you think my advice isn't worth listening to, then do as you do and hope you make it.
A lot of us, including myself havent flown in a while, but I (and others) did what it took to make sure I was prepared prior to coming here. After studying, I would shot an approach on my laptop every few nights. The guys up here already have higher times, and they can walk away from it for a while and it will not be that big of a deal. But for someone under 500hrs or so, it's hard to come back to it after being away. They did have extra sessions, but not more than 1. Hope you're studying for the oral, that's a huge ordeal in itself.

Does anyone know what the flying schedule will be right after finishing classes? What is the most junior base? Is there a penalty for applying to Capt before spending two years as FO, or is that two year penalty only for leaving the company? I have close to 500TT/100ME, and I am finishing up Air Force flight training now as a Reservist. Do they make any considerations for military as far as where we get based, or do they still send us up north? Has anyone been hired on at Capt off the street, or are we expected to go through the FO gig first?

You can try and upgrade when you hit 1500, but good luck. Odds are, an FO who's senior thats been there longer will upgrade, and you'll get bumped or displaced. Junior base is Billings, Parkersburg, Du Bois, and Bradford. Flying schedule is reserve for at least a few months, with 11 days off a month and a 75 hour guaranteed pay. Billings is 3 or 4 day trips. Northeast bases are all day trips. Hope that answers your questions.
