But to fly the line they need to have full ioe in the right seat.

Yeah that was a company miss understanding. The company thought they were right seat qual'd until the FAA informed them differently (had to have IOE as well).

Due to the fact that most captains where never an FO in this aircraft as the company got these Saab's as a fleet replacement , captains need to do IOE in the right seat to be qualified. There was confusion in the beginning as to simply switching seats in the sim makes you checked out but that needed up not being the case.

Just like the example of ex Q400 driver had to do both IOE in both seats ...

This is one of those "how could they have misunderstood?" moments.

The manual is very clear on that point.

brownie:

Don't know if you realize, but we just got a notification that there is now a reciprocal jumpseat between Silver and UPS.

I would be happy to have you or any of your UPS brethren jumpseat any time.

Appreciate the offer but per our contract ups is obligated to position the crews to and from the trip via commercial tickets. Its not right to use jumpsest for work since commercial tickets are available to us and its not fair to take money from you when that money its available to me but thank you. Plus I like to hang out at bar at the airports after a long week trip
