If that is the case, then I know him well. He is nefarious and untrustworthy. Fill up your logbook and move on to the next flying opportunity. When I commented on the "SkyKing" forum, I was talking about guys like Darryl. Good luck...H

I tried finding your comments, but couldn't. Mind pointing me in the right direction?

Charter section, Sky King "mass termination out of seniority" etc. Nothing worthy of a NY Times best sell list, just making a point that some guys have built an entire carreer at small companies screwing Pilots. When they are done, they just show up at the next airline and repeat...H

Agree and understood...if anyone not in "upper" management thinks they are anything more than just the "help" then drink another cup of coffee. This goes for ALL airlines, same broken record.

Second high-seniority pilot to tell me that the company is planning to furlough 40 Saab crew. From bottom seniority up. Reason: Slow Saab deliveries.

Lemme see. Cost of training 1 Saab guy: About $34K including lodging and 2 months of guarantee.

$34K x 40 crew = $1,360,000.00

Since the hiring environment at the regionals is as furious as it is, and everyone that just passed their check-rides on the Saab just proved they can pass a training program, does Silver Airways (Victoria Capital) think they're in a position to throw away $1.4MM?? A furlough of these pilots would release them from their 2 year contract. You know what the first thing they're all gonna do is?......SPLIT!

Why would they furlough only just cause they are two months behind on deliveries. ?? Doesn't seem cost effective

They're not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Think about it this way, they painted themselves into a corner. They sent saab transition pilots to training that were meant to go to MIA and MIA opening at this time is no where in sight. So after this next class you will have dozens more pilots sitting in FLL on reserve collecting guarantee. On the other hand pilots with bases up north waiting to transition are still on the beech flying in florida or the NE holding lines. So the smart thing would have been to keep the MIA guys in the beech holding the FLL/TPA operation while the deliveries came. This way TDY pay up north is mitigated. However they did it the hard way instead...

Many frustrated colleagues looking for other airline options as they're barely flying with this situation, which I can understand. Nobody enjoys reserve. A furlough would be like releasing the hounds as many would not return most likely.

Just another story in the regional airline industry, I would say at least we have a job, but sometimes you just never know anymore.
