I'm sure that is plenty of runway to take off with.

Empty airplane. Two pilots. Minimum fuel. Definitely. Whether it would have the FAA required accelerate/stop or accelerate/go distance with an engine failure is questionable.

See, this is a big plus to being a bush rat lol. I've done this (on purpose, for various reasons... snow birms, mud, etc.) and Alaskans, CPs, DO's could care less. Did it once fresh off IOE by accident before I learned what an Alaskan NDB was. I just played it off, "Hmmm, I guess our pax arn't coming? Scuse me sir, how do you pronounce the name of this village? At-Muth-Luk? oh I see, thanks! Alright, lets head for Akichuck!"

I imagine it's a bigger deal in those "big" airplanes... but 3200' seems like something that should have looked a little tight on final? But who am I to question a fellow professional? Be interested to see what comes of it.

Was the tower open? We're supposed to know where you are (or aren't) when we clear you to land. Just like the MacDill/O'Knight incident.

You feel bad?! What would you have done? Backed it up with an ILS, a VOR, any instrument approach at all?! This was one of the first times into the airport, how could they even be complacent at this time? It was night time also, how bout these people key up the lights?! These 2 jokers are not "professional" pilots, they merely fill the seat.

In the simplest terms possible, our job is to fly from Point A to Point B Safely. They missed Point B completely. THAT'S 50% OF THE FLIPPIN' JOB FOLKS! That is all.
