From what I've gathered, SJU will at first just be 1 Saab with 2 crews, just to establish presence. I don't think our goal right away is to take over for Eagle (although this may happen to be a "coincidence"). I believe we are pursuing our own market for ourselves down there, and then do some of Eagle's routes. And it will be a TDY for now, not an actual crew base.

Wow, it will be very tough for Silver compete against Jetblue here in SJU (in the future if that happens). Jetblue right now have flight from SJU to some islands in their jets, and so far they are been leading here the market right now. Last night reading the newspaper about AE ending in SJU one employee said that "after Jetblue started in SJU last year has been very tough to keep competing against them" plus also here we have Cape Air and a couple more local airlines too. I saw Jetblue have SJU to St. Thomas (maybe a 20mins flight) in a jets just for $45 when local airlines have the same route slightly more expensive. Let's see what happens.

Please elaborate on how you can operate one airplane with just two crews.. What happens when one crew member calls out sick and their counterpart is on their day off?

I am not sure if you have noticed but a lot of the guys that post here from Gulfstream make up Sh!t as they go. Someone posted that they were planing to keep 1 or 2 1900's down in FL as spares as they face in the SF340, I guess they don't understand the nightmare that would be created to maintain crews qualified on 2 aircraft, or maybe they are suggesting they will keep spare crews also! One airplane would be logistic night mare and a huge overhead (for a single ship), the operational fixed cost for other aircrafts will be minimal. Also they have been posting here about the FAA limiting the cycles on the aircraft, I am not sure if those numbers affect a non transport category aircraft! What is happening is that as these airplanes reach their heavy checks their expenses are starting to mount up and with current fuel prices it might be beneficial to fly a larger aircraft when all the numbers are considered!

If you are referring to my post I was as making up **** you are wrong. I'm giving someone who wants to know if they can hold fl base the info that its not going to happen. If you look at coair/united schedules for the next few months they are operating both 1900/saab on fl routes for a while. The main maintence in gnv will repair both a/c , all the 1900 c/k airmen are in fl so its not far fetched but maybe you know better. I hope they phase out all the 1900s eventually but who knows??

This is why I said SOME instead of ALL. EWY is mostly full, escpecially this time of year.

Feel free to read through the 100 or so previous posts. No need to keep repeating the information.

On Autopilot- I can't tell your tone in your remark. Either you're coming on here bragging that you make $2 more per hour where you're at, or still b*tching because you're sour at Silver for what happened to you (2 months ago nonetheless). Either way, you've got to be kidding me....
There are more people on here than just me that can attest to the validity of your post. He's here to brag because he thinks he's cool cause he makes $2 more an hour at a job that hired him after his SECOND washout from a 121 company. For someone who scored in the 60s for his indoc and BARELY passed systems, He sure likes to talk alot about how good he is. I get really tired of hearing from this guy.

And your DAMN STRAIGHT I will ALWAYS thanks Sporty's since it was Armando Covelli that recommended me to go to MCO. Where you there when that Captain told me the reason I was not going to continue in training? Where you there when Chris admitted it? How was your pre-oral Oh that's right, you didn't get one- no one in our class did except me( though the company said they no longer do that) and despite what others have said- they wanted perfection from me- or to know both volumes 100%.

I also invited the perps that did this to me to come on this forum to defend themselves - not one did. So your point is spreading this info and rehashing this is......................

I will tell you my point, defender of the order of Silver. It was to let others know that despite what happened to me there, things did workout for me and to let others know (like the 3 others who left under not so nice circumstances) that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

You are the one that is kidding me - and others.
Do you know that you could have a law suit brought against you for you putting their names on here, potential name slandering. That's not Cool dude, so knock it off. Please, in some way get the names that you dropped removed.

Let me ask you something MJ, have you learned yet where one of the static ports is on the 1900? And "...it's on the airplane" is not a suitable answer.

I'm going to quote HeartBreak Ridge: "Don't go away mad, just go away!"

Why do you hope they phase out all the 1900s? One Saab can replace 2 1900s (ASM) and thus reducing the pilots need by 1/2! Maybe then you can apply to be a FA instead of a paying passenger (FO)

Please explain to me how quoting his post is doing the same. I'm not the one who wrote the names.
