Horizon is getting rid of the 16 Q200s and replacing them with Q400s. The Q200's we have are all at least 8 years old and have been well loved. I'm sure the HGSs will be taken out. Unless Commutair plans to fly CAT III approaches!

Hey, great. Not sure about the CatIII approaches but, that would be cool anyway. How are the planes to fly? Are they in pretty good shape? I am learning the 1900 first which will be a blast but, the capt upgrade will be to the Dash. Should be fun

I dunno, weather in CLE can be pretty crappy some times

The Q200 is an awsome airplane to fly. I have flown it for 7 years from both seats and still enjoy it. One of the best things about the dash is that if you can see the runway, you can land on it (with a few exceptions, like a strong tailwind). As far as the condition of the airplanes....they are getting old, but they are very durable airplanes. I'm sure they will do some work to them before they send them to Cleveland. I will miss flying them, but I will certainly enjoy flying the Q400!

something to consider, isn't commutair getting rid of their 1900's? they were slowly weaning them out of service last year, getting down to something like 12 planes.
I would think most of the dash flying is replacement airframes, not real growth. what did they tell you?

Well, the replacement is the Dash for 1900's. They are completly phasing them out. As far as growth, they are growing the CLE hub from 10 to 16 cities. In addition the DO said they may have a contract in the works out of BOS with DAL. So they did say their is definitly growth, in fact they had to expand their interview teams to cover all the hiring their doing.

their upgrade was running 2+ years even with the 1900's. my guess is the senior people will likely stay on longer because of the cabin class aircraft on property.
