To be honest, upgrades are undetermined.. ( no true growth, uncertain attrition)... I know a late 2005 hire that is still 40-60 numbers away, and has been that close for the last 7-8 years.
He could upgrade next year or in 10 years. The few guys still left from my class are somewhere around 400 numbers away at year 9!!! Even if NJA upgraded 50 a year ( doubtful), they're still 8 years away!! That would be a 17 year upgrade BEST case scenario...into a Phenom

Plenty of our pilots do it...but NJA wants to know about it. There is a concern that it will interfere with the FAA hours limit. I seriously doubt anyone has gotten even remotely close to it. I flew less than 200 hours last year.

I've been pretty bearish on NJA for a long time. Back when I was making my decision to resign I foresaw little to no growth over many years. NJA was at 500 airframes and 3000+ pilots pre furlough.. Last I remember, all those orders would have NJA at 430ish when it was all said and done.. ( numbers may be way off, it's been forever since I looked at orders and disposals)
IMO, interviewing and hiring has been for massive attrition in the FO ranks. Which doesn't help upgrades much and shows a flaw in the job long term.. And I'd say a 17+ year upgrade is a huge flaw.

the difference between my old seniority on Jan. 16, 2010 and the December 2015 seniority list is over 320 numbers...
The most junior SIC on that Dec. 2015 seniority list is close to 70 numbers greater than my furlough seniority...and at that time I had atleast 300 pilots junior to me...
Total Pilots Dec '15.……2679
Total Pilots Jan '14......2943
Total Pilots Jan, 2010....3060
I'm no Mathmetician, and only took advanced Calculus in college, but I'm pretty sure that's a reduction... I could be wrong..
I also don't have the time to to look at the PIC change but I'm willing to bet the most junior PIC did not move up 321 numbers over the last 5 years.

Did you account for retirements? Yes or no?
Did you account for CA's separating? Yes or no?
Did you account for FO's that were furloughed who resigned during the furlough? Yes or no?
Also, the Jan 2010 list still had the nearly 500 pilots who would eventually be furloughed.
If there was a "massive" (defined as: Massive | Define Massive at Dictionary.com) attrition rate, would NJA not need to hire more than they are?
Do we have FO attrition, sure we do. Is it "massive", not even remotely close. I would highly recommend taking another look at that math class.
If you need to come on here to "reassure" yourself, clearing you did not end up exactly where you wanted to be. When I have left companies and felt good about it, I do not look back or hang out. But that's just me.
I hope you find the happiness you desire. Clearly it was not here and that's ok. Hanging out here and trying to make others unhappy is a bit....well...curious. Good luck wherever you ended up.

What is this, the Air Force? "Separated"? In the civilian world we use the word quit.. Like "take this job and shove it"..
Based on your previous posts, you can't handle any one saying the least bit negative thing about NJA.. Someone is thinking about leaving for more money you say stupid sh.it like " if money is your bliss..."
Potential applicants have concerns and someone informs them upgrades could be closer to 15-20 yrs based on today's numbers, and your only retort is a definition of massive, and if PIC's and furloughees were accounted for in the numbers. ( which by the way makes not a bit of difference. Attrition is attrition.
Trust me, I'm more than happy where I'm at. I do enjoy coming to this side, not only for the current events, but to see guys like you get riled up. It does make the ten minutes a night on here more enjoyable.

It was your wording not mine. You simply do not like the fact that I pointed out your error..both mathematically and grammatically. I could care less if anyone leaves here...I hope more senior people do. But when someone, who no longer works here yet hangs around comes on and spreads horse****, yeah, I am going to call them out. Your...YOUR words..made is sound like people are leaving in droves which is simply, and factually, not correct...not even close to being correct. You failed to answer my questions..which means you do not have the simple answer. I am more than happy to entertain your "math" if it bears any resemblance to the truth..which it does not.
All one has to do is look at any other NJA thread and they will see upgrades are a long way away...your news, is old news. I think the reality is that you, and those like you, come on here and say how much better off you are now then when you were at NJA and those that stay, are making a mistake.
If coming to this site "excites" you...you are in serious need of a hobby. Also, if you need something to do every night other than trolling APC, again, get a hobby...and a life.
