You really are out of touch on that one.... Netjets only slightly better than a Regional?!?! Please tell me a Regional that is anywhere near the pay QOL, and benefits of Netjets pilots. Netjets is the industry standard of pay and QOL that certainly Regional Pilots and LCC's should be striving for. A Netjets pilot on a 7/7 schedule is only working half the year, with travel being part of their paid, on-duty time. No, they are not fighting for a jumpseat or trying to use one of their ID'90's, they are Platinum members of that airline's frequent flyer program because they are PAYING PASSENGERS, like the one sitting next to them, and have a right to say just about anything they want. They get crew meals, airline miles, rental car points, hotel points, etc. and that isn't even part of their salary, which while might not reach major levels, they aren't flying 90 hours a month either. In fact, many Netjets pilots are former "airline pilots" who turned down recalls and you couldn't pay them to go back to that rat race (in their opinion). Netjets pilots, if calculated by flight hour is phenomenal, and they are still getting paid watching ESPN at the FBO or riding around discovering the town in the crew car. They don't have to work a side job, or manipulate the system and fly their butts off, their Contract does that for them which, by the way, was negotiated by the same pilot who negotiated the United Contract 2000.
As far as the Netjets pilot speaking out on the overall sweatshop conditions in the Regional segment... God Bless him/her!!! It's about time people shine a light on the dirty little secret that the airlines don't want their passengers to know.... People used to assume that you were rich if you wore an airline uniform.. Better that the truth comes out. Before Contract 05, Netjets passengers assume that their pilots were the best paid out there and were shocked by the pay and working conditions that Netjets pilots endured flying the highest profile passengers on the planet. By letting their passengers know this truth by informational picketing Wall Street, Berkshire Hathaway HQ, and the Kentucky Derby banner tow fly by, they were able to affect change by embarrassing their Management. Now, by letting their passengers know the truth, Netjets pilots have some of the most enviable pay, schedule, QOL, etc. All by shining the light on a dirty little secret.
If the Regionals are proud of their compensation packages, they should own it, brag about it, etc. And as far as walking into the CEO's office to discuss said Regional sweatshop salary, good luck with that.... They are off flying as a passenger on a Netjets flight, flown by well-compensated Netjets pilots. When I saw something bad happen in aviation, I tell every Flight Attendant, Gate Agent, Mechanic, Pilot, Van Driver, etc. because the word does get around, and eventually the truth sets you free. The sweatshop wages and QOL (Compared to the Majors) should be on every newspaper, evening news, and on flyers outside of UND, Embry Riddle, etc.
Netjets is a career destination, and if it is only slightly better than a regional as you assert, I have yet to see one Netjets pilot leave for a Regional. I really don't get how you can possibly say that...

Yes, we had duty/rest times, but it totally sucked IMO having plans changed eight times within three minutes. Hustling to the airport for a pop up, cleaning and stocking the plane, and making passenger arrangements all detracted from QOL IMO.
By the way, NJ was not always the gold standard for pay. Citation Shares/Air set the standard for some time.
Personally I think NJ guys are paid well, as they should be, but their recent demands are off the mark... Again, just my opinion.

Wow. New hire? That's some serious Kool-Aid drinking there. I'm glad you're happy with your decision. However, there is a reason I receive non-stop emails from QS pilots looking to get out. Only working half a year? Way TOO much. Don't let me keep you though. Those tray tables won't wipe themselves. And don't forget the mustard goes UNDER the mayo.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to define QOL beyond the individual. My desires for a good QOL depend on where I choose to live, having a known schedule, NOT commuting, and not spending any more time in an airport terminal than I have too. BUT.....BUT...that's just me and only me. For others, that's up to them. If that is what they want, have at it. It has ZERO effect on my life what others want...ZERO.
I laugh at people who say "you are an idiot for not having apps out". They do not know me, the flying I want to do or what sort of life I WANT.
Money...money is a curious thing. I quit chasing it years ago. I know my worth as a pilot and will fight for it. What I will not do is put money in front my personal happiness. Would I like to make 250K a year working 5 months out of the year, sure. Am I willing to sit in a JS for a 4 hour flight to JFK the night before my flight to make it? No. Am I willing to be a part of the poor service the airlines are known for? No. Am I willing to be number 12657 out of 13000? No. Am I willing to move to chase airframes or seats? Hell effing no!
If you are willing to do all those things for money, good for you. There are others out there who do all sorts of things for more money!

Sigh.....

I didn't mean to sound like a Netjets new hire, who is now working their first, decent flying job and has their Kool Aide 02 mask set on 100% Kool Aide. Yes, I have talked to some Netjets and Wheels Up new hires, with NJ and WU being their first decent job, they describe it like its their first sexual experience. I get it. They are in their honeymoon phase, and haven't realized that Netjets is FAR from perfect and will never be "THE MAJORS".
Disclaimer: I don't fly for Netjets, either, although I have about 40 friends that were hired there after our airline started furloughs after September 11. And yes, I know that they are senior and have a much different perspective that the more recent hires that have been furloughed and treated like crap.
I have flown Fractional and 121 (Not Regional), though, and I have friends in both. Because of this, I can say that most all Regional jobs pay less and work harder that I did flying Fractional.
And if you both recall, I came on here to defend the Netjets pilot's right (and obligation, IMHO) to speak out about the poor pay at the Regionals. Remember that he was berated as being a loud mouth by this Regional pilot who said "Netjets was only slightly better than a regional". So, I addressed his point with counter points, yet somehow I'm a Kool Aide drinker for simply pointing out that a Netjets pilot's compensation, QOL, and work days are far better than that of a Regional? Otherwise, why are so many Regional pilots bailing for NJ and WU lately, and not the other way around? It's not rocket science.
I realize that this is contract/informational picketing time at Netjets, and we don't want to blow sunshine about how great a company/job is when their Management is trying to steal the gains that the Netjets pilots have made, but we also need to keep a little perspective. I stand by what I said about the Netjets pay, QOL, and lifestyle, and I only alluded that a Netjets career is a better paying and lifestyle than a 90/month Regional career trying to work the system and having a part time job, all while playing jumpseat jeapordy (As a former JS Coordinator, I did miss the jumpseat and CASS that Regional Pilots enjoy, though) . So, if I'm wrong about Netjets and Regionals are better, please tell me I'm wrong, why, and name the Regional that Netjets pilots are bailing for.

I live "in the boonies", so Frac flying is a better fit for me. My brief 121 career commute just about killed me.
It's all relative. But I'm happy to be here, and supportive of my co-workers/Reps to keep it as good as it is.
And it's ain't my first rodeo...

Nice post. As an FNG at NJ, I couldn't have stated it myself as well.

Dude, Get over yourself. There's a difference between a simple typo and repeated identical mistakes and consistently bad grammar.
Anyway, I am finished with your silliness, near sociopathic obsession and misplaced arrogance.

I've looked back at several of your posts and found misspelled words and grammatical errors.I could have posted it all here for everyone to see,but I chose not to.It doesn't prove a thing. We all make mistakes, typing on a phone between flights, etc. Its ok when you make a few, but you want to throw someone else under the bus for it?
You're hilarious! !!
Be safe out there Mr.Speed ,I hope the skies are friendly to you .
