That happened before I started and there may be someone with more information on it.

I actually get tipped almost all the time when I contract fly. Got $1000 once, $500 three times, and for the most part it was $100-200 a trip.
I get quite a few tips at my cruddy 135 job, but when I flew for a frac I got very few. Supposedly the owners were told there as well not to tip, for the same reasons as you state above.

Most of us give our Atlantic bucks to the hostages the company has taken during negotiations. Even then, they don't amount to a whole lot unless you're in a large cabin.

Those stops were just as rare in the large cabin (split them 3 ways as well). I actually did better in the X than the GV fleet. Not by much, though. I think I did maybe $250 at most a year on Atlantic bucks. Some would get lucky and do better.

^^^Wow. I think I averaged $600.00 a year with A Bucks. The Piaggio sipped fuel too. Of course I did spend alot of time in ASE, LAS and SJC

The job posting actually says 7/7 or something to that effect. Can you start on the 7 and 7? How or how soon can you bid off?

Does everyone start their 7 days on the same day of the week?

If you are on the 18 day schedule, how does a week of vacation work?

I think the first question was answered in the other thread, but in a nutshell you may be able to get on the 7/7 after you're finished with ground training or IOE depending on what kind of mood the powers that be are in. You will be able to get a 7/7 line during the first bid period after you're done with training for sure.

There are tours starting every day of the week. The start days vary by fleets, but I think each day of the week is going to be covered in the larger fleets.

18 day vacations are (if I remember this right) going to be 18 day stretches. On a 7/7 line you end up with 21 straight days off. I think you end up with 18 straight off on the 18 day fixed. Hopefully someone will verify that or correct it.

7&7 is not guaranteed. For example, you may be in a new fleet type and forced on to the 18 day for up to two years. You also might miss the bid window and be forced to stay on it after training for several months. 18 day schedule vacation periods are a minimum of 15 days on the calendar for 7 work days of credit.

Even on the 7&7, your days off are not guaranteed. Your schedule can be shifted during any month of the year for a training event. They can, have, and will send you to training early when you were not expecting. Essentially, the only sacred time off is the vacation periods.

FO pay should be 80% of CA pay or it gets a no vote. Period.

Okay this is none of my business but I wanted to throw this in. Nine years ago or so I was flying a jet on the EJM certificate (how that's legal idk) but the tip thing was kind of hilarious. We would do a lot of marquis folks with their families, I guess some were owners but we were always a size upgrade for them with a Legacy.

So I saw it plenty of times where some fat lazy rapper would hang out and watch me load a plane and the owners would then tip him for watching us. In one particular case after we loaded bags for eleven people who didn't know how to pack the owner waited until I was in front of him AND looking at him before he took the wad of cash in his hand and gave it to the smiling ramper and then he walked on board. Never said a word to me. Fwiw we had waited a while for them to show so that wasn't the issue. They drove to the airport and straight on to the ramp. Literally nothing was done by that ramper.

The ramper smiling took the money and went back to the fbo. So I removed their chalks, should have taken them with me, and made sure the area was clear. I didn't expect, want or need a tip, but to make such a show of it was silly and trite.

I knew about the new jets "our pilots are well compensated" letter so I knew that's where this had originated but it's just funny how people think they're proving something.

It's funny looking back, I flew a lot of netjets charters and can count on my hands how many times it was business people using the jet for legitimate business. It was always familys with ****ed off nanny who was hell bent on doing nothing as they headed to the islands.

I always wondered if that was normal or were the trouble makers were sent to ejm?
