NetJets Super Bowl TFR
How does your company handle a National Defense Airspace TFR like the one for the Super Bowl. Do you guys have some sort of exemption or do you have a 121/135 certificate that you operate under?

The TFR was for TPA airport. Almost all of our flights operated from LAL today as a result for the TFR.

That's what I figured but I wondered if NetJets had enough pull to receive some sort of waiver program...obviously big events like that draw your crowd just wondered how the company dealt with it. Thanks

No, we have no waiver program that I know of. We must comply with all TFR's as published. As a matter of fact, I probably receive 3-4 emails a week via blackberry notifying us of TFR's impacing GA airports.
Our owner services dept will receive from operations any TFR data and will arrange to have our pax either in or out of the affected airport prior to it starting.
Quick story, I was in Texas a couple of years ago, "W" was scheduled to arrive at 1730 local, the TFR was scheduled to kick in at 1700ish. We were scheduled to depart at 1630, and told the pax they had to be on time or early. We started engines at 1615, and started the taxi out but had to go back because Air Force One was a little early and they shut down the airspace early as a result.
Hope this helps.

Speaking of the superbowl, did anybody fly into TPA, not just NJA, but anybody?? how was it???
last year I flew out of Phoenix on superbowl sunday, took 3 people out, called for the clearance, and we were number 29 in line to get it, that was a zoo. Had the superbowl off this year. What was TPA like??

Not sure if there are different levels of TFR's, but last summer we departed KMKC during a TFR. We were given a "slot" time by ATC and were allowed to depart. Now that was during an Airshow not Potus or the superbowl.
