The minimums are pretty straight forward. They are posted on the airlinepilotcentral I can't recall what they are but they are pretty easy min's for you I would imagine.

First of all - you NJA guys have the most information in your reply posts...thanks.

The domicile thing is kind of weird for me - does that mean there is no advantage of living at one of the domiciles since you can be put on a trip that starts anywhere?

I have flown all over Europe in a BE20 and the only places I recall ever having to refuel my own aircraft are Ramstein and Rhein-Main... that is until I learned that TA will do it for you if you ask them.

We call 'em Crew Bases -- and there are 100 of them: http://gc.kls2.com/cgi-bin/gc?PATH=A...avy&MAP-STYLE=

The Domicile system was eliminated last year when Contract 2007 was ratified.

All of your trips (we call 'em "tours") will start and finish at your Crew Base.

You show-up for work at your Crew Base on Day 1 and NetJets transports you (via airline, rental car, limo, etc...) to a location where you meet up with another pilot and a plane. On the last day of your tour, NetJets will transport you back to your Crew Base.

For example: Pilot #1 lives at the AUS Crew Base and Pilot #2 lives at the JAX Crew Base. On Day 1, NetJets "airlines" both pilots to MDW Airport where they meet up with eachother and pick up a jet that has been sitting there for the last few days.

On Day 7, the two pilots "abandon" their jet (where it will sit until another crew "fetches it") and are transported home to their respective domiciles.

You don't have to live at any of the 100 Crew Bases, but it is your responsibility to be at your chosen Crew Base at your show time.

As jetlag mentioned there is no real advantage to a particular base. However if you live in the New York area, near TEB for example (of course who wants to live near there) I would say you would likely have a significant number of mid tour nights at home.

I'll second that - NetJets a/c are all over the place there in TEB.

About the schedules, since after your IOE they are awarded based on seniority, is it accurate to assume that since the 18 day schedule pays the most ( as shown on the pay scale on this site) it usually goes very senior?

And also dose that mean that the 7 on 7 off usually goes very junior because of the pay?

On the 18 day schedule, what is the maximum number of days you are usually scheduled to work consecutively, the limit?

7 and 7 is the prefered schedule that the union wants and defends. 18 days is 3 more days a month and is what the company wants. 40 percent can do the 18 day if they want, but only about 20 percent chose it. I believe only some captains on the Encore + were unable to hold the 18. It pays more, but you work more to get it- only about a 2 percent premium on the daily rate for the extra days worked. I highly doubt you won't be able to get the 18 day if that is what you want if you get hired.

As far as days worked, the 18 day schedule allows the company to keep you for up to 8 days in a row once every 4 months (with a minimum of 5 days off following it) and normally up to 7 in a row (with 4 off minimum). Any tour less than 7 has a 3 day off minimum.

I had to laugh at this. That's what TA is paid for--to service and fuel transient aircraft. That said, Ramstein TA has always been very lazy from my experience.

Could you please clarify? Does this mean that you believe that odds are good that you WILL be able to hold the 18 day schedule as a new hire F/O if desired? Also, if your cannot hold the 18 day schedule, can you flat out volunteer to work more to make up the difference?

Thanks in advance.
